Typically requires a deep understanding of the characteristics of the physical device being controlled, the realtime functions it is expected to perform and the ability to design, develop, implement, and test the logic and software required to realize the realtime functionality. Usually tailored for products and services across various P&Ls. Impacts the team's ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives. The role is subject to operating policy objectives. There is moderate autonomy within the role. High levels of operational judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.

Job Description

The GE Aerospace Defense&Systems Sub-Section Manager will lead a group of highly skilled engineers in the Domain of Embedded Software and Systems. He/She will be instrumental in people leadership, capability development and customer collaboration in order to plan the project landscape for his/her section. In addition to that, the manager will also be responsible for contributing to Site and Section objectives by being an effective member of the engineering management team of GE Aerospace Defense & Systems.

More specifically, the Sub-Section Manager will:

Qualifications/Requirements

Masters/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer scienceSignificant experience of working in a highly technical engineering field, preferably avionics systems.High proficiency in spoken and written EnglishHighly developed communication skills
