We are seeking a visionary Senior Engineering Manager to oversee the integration and optimization of out-of-box Default Storage for Databricks. In this role, you will lead a high-performing engineering team, drive strategic initiatives, and collaborate with major cloud service providers to enhance our data management solutions.

The Databricks Default Storage team focuses on the development and optimization of our out-of-box Default Storage solutions for Databricks. Our goal is to simplify data management processes, enhance security and governance, and streamline cloud infrastructure management. This team is at the forefront of innovation in cloud storage, ensuring that our solutions are not only robust and secure but also seamlessly integrated with major cloud service providers and enterprise data frameworks.
Responsibilities
Guide a cloud-agnostic engineering team committed to delivering the best out-of-box Default Storage for Databricks. Engage in technical, product, strategy and design discussions focused on cloud storage management and optimization. Define and drive the future of out-of-box Default Storage, aligning with company strategy and evolving customer needs. Oversee the recruitment and development of top-tier talent to build a cohesive and dynamic engineering team. Foster leadership within the team through coaching, mentorship, and providing growth opportunities. Implement strategic processes to efficiently realize the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for our Default Storage offering. Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and partner ecosystems. Evolve the organizational structure to support long-term initiatives and establish effective communication frameworks.Requirements
5+ years in systems related to cloud storage, data management, or similar technical fields. A deep enthusiasm for enhancing and innovating cloud storage and data management solutions. Proven ability in building high-quality and reliable infrastructure services with a focus on testing, quality assurance, and service level agreements. Demonstrated ability to attract, hire, and mentor engineers of the highest caliber; experience in growing leaders and integrating top-tier senior talent. Ability to gain the trust of the team and guide their careers effectively; experience managing distributed teams is preferred. Comfortable working with product management and directly with customers; possesses a deep understanding of product nuances and customer personas.
Pay Range Transparency
Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
