How you will make an impact:

The Biologicals and Chemicals Division (BCD) is a $1.3B business within the BioProduction Group, supporting our BioPharma partners in the manufacturing of life-changing and life-saving biologics through our Gibco Media offerings.

We are seeking a dynamic Sr. Finance Manager who will provide finance and collaborative leadership to the $450M Protein Production segment of the Cell Culture & Cell Therapy (CC&CT) business, including direct business partner support to the Director of Product Management. This position will also be a lead finance partner to the General Manager of Cell Culture. Reporting to the Director of FP&A for CC&CT, this role will lead strategic finance partnership, decision support, and team development, and may manage a direct report in the future.

What you will do:

Partner with product management on revenue forecasting and strategic decision-making for Protein Production; evaluate revenue, backlog, and pipeline opportunities, and incorporate business feedbackLead preparation and development of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), Strategic Operating Plan (STRAP), and monthly & quarterly business reviewsMonitor and analyze financials across the P&L, including leading monthly and quarterly reporting (revenue, standard margin, OpEx, CapEx); lead synthesis of performance measurements and accompanying insight generationLead data analysis for the business, navigating complex data to identify trends and business insights; enhance operational efficiency.Analyze financial and business performance against key business metrics and identify insights & root causes, enabling understanding of progress against strategic business plansUnderstand and deploy the best methods to effectively communicate complex data and topicsDevelop high-quality, effective presentationsIdentify, communicate, and manage risk & opportunitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and adopt new analytical toolsPartner with BCD & CC&CT finance leadership management team on team development, prioritization, and decision-makingParticipate in and lead strategic improvement initiatives within the business

Primary office at Carlsbad, CA, USA; other possible locations are Grand Island, NY, USA & Waltham, MA, USA

How you will get here:

Education

An undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience

Experience

Minimum of 5-7 years of business and Finance experiencePrior experience in a large global company and highly matrixed organizationProficient at understanding and proactively communicating the financial implications of business decisions and dynamics

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Demonstrated proficiency in Excel for sophisticated financial analysis, reporting, and modeling; prior exposure to PowerBI, Hyperion, and Cognos is preferredProven business partner with ability to influence indirectly and partner with leadershipIntellectual curiosity, versatility, & adaptabilityStrong desire to formulate and drive operational improvements and challenge the status quoAbility to learn quickly and succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic organizationAttention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workGood understanding of business processes, operations, and financial controlsSkilled in effectively communicating information to various levels of management and capable of confidently expressing independent viewpoints 

Travel requirements

Up to 5-10% domestic/international travel required

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $120,800.00–$175,000.00.
