Description Senior Financial Analyst A client of ours is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst for a contract role. This role will primarily focus on the propane division of the company and will play a critical part in improving our data analysis, forecasting accuracy, and strategic financial planning. Responsibilities of Senior Financial Analyst + Lead budgeting, forecasting, and monthly variance analysis across key business units. + Extract and organize complex datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and operational efficiencies. + Develop and implement key performance metrics to support data-driven decision-making. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate data insights into actionable recommendations. + Proactively engage with senior leadership by providing strategic insights, developing presentations, and offering solutions for improving financial efficiency. + Review existing data processes and make recommendations for enhancing reporting and analytics capabilities. Requirements Skills/Qualifications of Senior Financial Analyst + Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field. + 6+ years of experience in financial analysis or a similar analytical role. + Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, advanced formulas, macros, data visualization). + Experience working with large data sets and conducting deep-dive analyses. + Proven ability to think strategically, communicate effectively with leadership, and drive continuous improvement. + Ability to work independently and deliver results with minimal supervision. + Experience with SAP or other large ERP systems is preferred + Working knowledge of Power BI and/or Tableau (a significant plus but not required). + Prior experience in the energy, utilities, or propane industry is a plus. + Strong understanding of data queries and database structures.
