Sr. Financial Analyst

UFG is currently seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst who will be responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and developing insights to support business decisions. This role will primarily support preparation of functional budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis for the organizations operating expenses. A successful candidate will have a desire to grow and learn about our company, our industry, and the drivers behind our results. You will work cross functionally to evaluate financial performance, forecast trends, and recommend strategies to improve our competitive expense position.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models. Provide support in monitoring actual performance against budget and forecasts, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions. Financial Analysis: Perform analysis to identify trends, opportunities and risks. Analyze KPI’s to guide decision making Monthly Reporting: Develop, prepare, and present financial reports to management including variance analysis and review of results for business segments and lines of business Data: Translate complex financial data into actionable insights that inform business strategy. Work with management and business partners to develop data driven recommendations and actionable plans. Business Partnering: Collaborate with internal departments to understand their financial needs, share results, and provide analytical support for initiatives. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve reporting accuracy, and enhance financial forecasting techniques. Ad Hoc Analysis: Provide financial analysis and support for business initiatives, special projects, strategy roadmap, and any other tasks assigned by management.Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, statistics, or a related field.Experience:
2-5 years of finance, accounting, or business analytics experience is preferred. Property and casualty insurance experience is preferred but not required.Knowledge, skills & abilities:
General knowledge of accounting, finance, or general business operations principles. General insurance knowledge is a plus. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, etc.), financial modeling, and data analysis tools. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capability to interpret financial data and provide insights that drive business decisions. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner to both financial and non-financial stakeholders. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Team Player: Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.Working Conditions:
