Job Summary 
The Senior Functional Analyst plays a critical role in connecting Carhartt's business needs with technical solutions for Supply Chain. This role involves analyzing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness. The Senior Functional Analyst collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, business stakeholders, and external vendors, to ensure that systems and processes align with the organization's goals. This position provides IT leadership with best practices related to Product Lifecycle and Supply Chain Management.

Representative Responsibilities

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements to ensure a clear understanding of project objectives. Consult with business process owners to identify, define, and document business needs and objectives and assist the business with the development of a business case for enhancements.  Facilitate requirements gathering sessions, document, and communicate those requirements accordingly. Review new functional business requirements, assess their impact on production environments, and communicate business system implications to the business. Review all enhancement requests, including collaborating with business partners to ensure that the requests align with enterprise processes, systems, and Carhartt's long-term strategic vision. Review all designs and decisions related to systems and processes that impact Product Lifecycle, and broader Supply Chain systems at Carhartt with appropriate technical and business partners. Coordinate with business partners and IT leadership to prioritize enhancement requests. Analyze current business processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements. Support business process mapping, including process flows, data flow diagrams, entity relationship diagrams, etc. Ensure that the process designs comply with requirements, established methodologies, and best practices (where applicable). Develop and propose technical solutions that meet business needs, including system modifications and enhancements. Identify, assess, and mitigate risk. Oversee the implementation of new systems and processes, ensuring they are integrated smoothly into the existing environment. Create and execute test plans to ensure that solutions meet the specified requirements and function correctly. Provide ongoing support and maintenance for implemented systems, addressing any issues that arise and making necessary updates. Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, business process owners, and subject matter experts. Contribute to overall IT strategy and develop application roadmaps.  Research, benchmark and identify best practices and participate in continuous education to guide the business in the identification of ‘differentiator’ or ‘competitive advantage’ processes.

 

Required Education 

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems/IT or related field; or equivalent years of experience 

 

Required Skills & Experience 

Minimum of 8 years IT experience inclusive of: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a functional analyst role, with a focus on IT systems and processes. Minimum of 3 years in Product Lifecycle or Supply Chain Management systems Minimum of 3 years in Project Management Industry certifications related to Project Management and Supply Chain Management are a plus Strong technical acumen with a solid understanding of software development processes and methodologies.   Understanding of customer needs, business process knowledge and business and technical strategy/vision. Ability to write effective user stories with clear acceptance criteria focused on business value and small enough to be complete within an agile delivery framework. Ability to analyze complex business processes and identify areas for improvement. Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective work with cross-functional teams. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical audiences. Outstanding organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and attention to detail.   Experience managing projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and develop innovative solutions. Experience in retail or wholesale apparel.  SQL and Database knowledge preferred.

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions 

Office Environment  Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time Travel (10%) This position has a Remote location: Associate will have no regular requirement to be on-site. Travel on-site is limited to special events. Carhartt is a tobacco free workplace.
