Overview The Instructor, Gas Operations provides technical training to individual contributors in Gas Operations, a major business unit which supplies customers with gas in a safe and reliable manner. The Instructor, Gas Operations leads and supports the upskilling and continuous education of unionized employees within both Gas Field Operations (GFO) and Customer Meter Service (CMS) by delivering high quality learning experiences that meet technical, safety, and regulatory requirements. This individual supports the corporate mission by promoting the company values of Safety, Passion, Innovation, Responsibility, Integrity, and Teamwork (SPIRIT) and modeling the expected behaviors and attitudes of trainees and all employees. Responsibilities Core Responsibilities Creates, facilitates and delivers theoretical, practical, and technical training to Gas Operations employees through a variety of methods including (but not limited to) experiential, simulation, instructor-led and computer-based training, etc. Conducts progression training, Operator Qualification (OQ) reviews, and coordinates with cross-functional teams and departments to prepare trainees for standard assessments (e.g., OQ exams) in a timely manner. Supports the design and development of cohesive and innovative curriculum and training programs by preparing lesson plans, developing learning materials, demonstrating a strong commitment to company’s safety policy and aligning courses to meet regulatory standards. Creates a positive and constructive learning environment by managing time effectively and adjusting training delivery based on trainee needs. Demonstrates trust and credibility by developing strong relationships and partnering with diverse stakeholders to identify and meet training needs. Exhibits willingness to learn and teach new programs, skills, methods, procedures, equipment, etc. Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support business needs and drives compliance with company-approved methods of utility installation and maintenance to field personnel. Conducts knowledge checks and assesses trainee proficiencies in a fair and objective manner. Maintains records and monitors course completions, attendance, assessments, and qualifications. All other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalency required. Experience Minimum of five (5) years’ direct experience in gas field operations and additional five (5) years’ experience in combination of gas field operations and/or gas instructor position Familiarity with gas regulation & procedures such as Federal DOT 192 CFR, NGA Pipe Joining Manual Excellent knowledge of gas-related equipment such as meters, headers, CGI, fittings, regulator stations, valves, McElroy fusion machine etc. Working knowledge of computer systems, I-pad, word, excel etc. Licensure / Other Qualifications. Driver’s license is required Preferred Qualifications Gas field operations experience highly preferred Experience in directly managing a field work force (union) highly preferred Associate’s degree or higher preferred #INDRIE #RIE
