Description We are seeking a meticulous Sr. Grant Accountant to enhance our detail-oriented services team. Located in Los Angeles, California, this role provides a long term contract employment opportunity where you will be deeply involved with the processing of grant applications and fiscal management. You will work closely with our finance and grant teams, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all grant-related tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Process and manage assigned open grants, ensuring accurate reporting and invoicing, while effectively liaising with the program teams.
• Collaborate with teams and leadership to organize fiscal audit schedules and ensure accurate documentation.
• Supervise the allocation of personnel and non-personal expenses to grants, tracking spenddown on expiring grants.
• Develop budgets for new grant applications, conduct budget vs actual variance analysis, and monitor expenditure on existing grants.
• Ensure the accuracy and timely processing of information in collaboration with the Grants team.
• Review expenditure coding on grants to ensure compliance and prepare monthly grant & contract billing and reporting.
• Reconcile grants invoices with general ledger and prepare necessary journal entries.
• Perform pre- and post-award grant-related functions, including budget and expense analysis, periodic invoicing, financial reporting for funders, labor distribution changes, and budget modifications.
• Maintain fiscal management of grants and contracts in accordance with funder requirements. Requirements • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Proven expertise in Federal and Government Grants
• Demonstrable experience in Grant Accounting and Grant Administration
• Proficiency in Grant Management, handling both Private and Public Grants
• Solid background in Non-profit Accounting
• Experience with Single Audit in a non-profit setting
• Knowledge in Fund Accounting - Non-Profit
• Familiarity with Financial Edge and "Raiser's Edge" software
• Proficient in using VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables
• Experience in preparing Audit Schedules
• Ability to Analyze Variance and conduct Variance Analysis
• Excellent Interpersonal Communication skills
