ResponsibilitiesThe Post Award Financial Analyst will support sponsored programs managed by the Grants and Finance COE for Ascension. The position requires a significant emphasis on customer service, financial monitoring and an understanding and ability to interpret complex regulations, requirements and terms and conditions to ensure compliance.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Become familiar with federal regulations and sponsor award terms, in addition to Ascension policy; be able and willing to interpret and apply such regulations as they pertain to the administration of grants and contracts.Assists with the preparation of grant budgets for proposalsAssists with budget modifications as necessary post awardFacilitates grant financial reporting requirements and obtains necessary approvalsReview, monitor and report on cost share obligationsFacilitates grant invoices and ensures approvals are obtained prior to sending invoice to sponsorResponsible for monthly reconciliationsCoordinate timely effort reporting certification; assist certifiers with process and training when necessary.Performs JE reclassifications of expenditures to the grant and ensures expenditures are allowable, allocable, reasonable and consistently treatedMaintains all backup for grant related revenue and expenditures and ensures backupmatches the GL and documentationMeet periodically with grant program managers to provide projections, go over costs, budget, spending and assist in spending the grant within the awarded budget and sponsor termsWork with investigators to ensure all closeout reviews are done on a timely basis inaccordance with award terms and conditions.Respond to inquiries or requests for assistance as they relate to post award financial management.Assist in the preparation of materials related to audit inquiries for internal, sponsor, federal or state auditsPrepare the quarterly SEFARequirements
Education:
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.Additional PreferencesMedical or government grant accounting is a plus.
