Sr. Granular Area Operator (39501)

Clariant is currently looking for a Sr. Granular Area Operator to support the Adsorbents and Additives business unit in Quincy, FL. The Senior Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all 1A complex mills, screens, and related equipment. This role focuses on maximizing the production of RVM/LVM material grades while ensuring adherence to established quality specifications and tonnage targets. The Senior Operator will perform critical adjustments and maintenance tasks to maintain optimal process control and product quality. This is a full time, onsite opportunity that involves rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet production goals. Responsibilities

•    Operate and monitor mill systems using Human-Machine Interface (HMI) and field adjustments
•    Optimize conveyance systems and tanks to enhance product quality and production efficiency
•    Route feed materials through the mill complex and direct finished products to further processing steps or packaging stations
•    Perform equipment adjustments, including gapping mills, replacing hummer screens, and adjusting dust collection systems for maximum recovery of material sizes
•    Conduct in-process quality testing, such as mesh size evaluations, to ensure products meet established standards
•    Collect and analyze samples from all processing equipment and make necessary adjustments to circuits and equipment for particle size distribution improvements
•    Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment
•    Ensure equipment is operated and maintained in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements
•    Work effectively with team members to share ideas, address challenges, and maintain consistent communication
•    Keep supervisors informed of work progress, equipment issues, and potential improvements
 


 

Requirements

•    High School Diploma or equivalent (relevant work experience may substitute for educational requirements)
•    Experience in manufacturing or industrial processes, preferred
•    Familiarity with motorized industrial equipment, preferred
•    Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and comfortable working in elevated or high areas
•    Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for process control and equipment adjustments
•    Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
