The Topcon Healthcare HR team is growing. The Sr. Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) reports to the Director of Human Resources and is a strategic business partner providing broad human resources support to employees and managers. This is an outstanding opportunity for a collaborative, people-focused individual with proven experience developing people's capabilities, building a high-performance culture, and maximizing the value of investments in people. 

 

This position is required to be on-site in the Oakland, NJ, office.  

 

Responsibilities:  

Serve as point of contact for employee relations. Advise the local Managers and Director of HR in all HR-relevant matters, including the preparation of promotions, remuneration, job changes, leave requests, discipline, terminations etc.  

Mediate interpersonal work-related issues between employees and participate in investigations that may result in disciplinary action or termination. Ensure equal, consistent treatment aligned to legislation and company policy is applied. 

Coordinate and support the ongoing development of sophisticated people capability and related HR processes, such as performance review, goal setting, talent review, remuneration review, and engagement surveys. 

Implement training programs and other approved development and engagement actions. 

Accurately maintain all HR documentation, reporting, and administration requirements, including Workday (HRIS).

Proactively seek and recommend improvement opportunities and new initiatives within the employee lifecycle that align with the HR Vision and Mission. 

Support and collaborate with other HR team members and activities. Participate in the global HR team for two-way learning and development. 

Represent and help elevate the Topcon brand at hosted events and other functions.  

Maintain company organization charts.

Design and implement employee retention strategies.  

May perform other duties as assigned. 

Support recruiting efforts as needed. 

 

Experience: 

Broad knowledge and experience in Human Resources, including employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and development. 

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Possess a sense of urgency and ability to respond quickly to hiring managers.

Track record of providing a high-touch manager and candidate experience 

Ability to manage multiple and sometimes competing priorities. 

Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and be proactive. 

Possess a desire to collaborate to achieve results (both with the global HR team and local Operations). 

Contribute to a team environment by developing positive working relationships based on trust and integrity. 

Evidence of the practice of maintaining a high level of confidentiality. 

Excellent organizational skills. 

High-level computer literacy (Socials/Internet/MS Office Suite/SaaS). 

Analytical mind-set with a keen eye for detail and the ability to problem solve. 

 

Skills, Training & Qualifications: 

10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience. 

Experience in a large, global, matrixed company is beneficial. 

Experience using Workday or another SaaS HRIS, including the Recruiting module, is beneficial. 

Experience with job profiling (Radford or other methodology) 

Qualifications in human resources, psychology, business, or equivalent experience. 

Training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and/ or preventive labor relations is preferred. 

Experience with Canadian employment law. 

Dual lingual, French, and English are a plus.  

Base Pay:

Expected Base Pay Range: $100,000 to $140,000 Annualized

The base pay range included is a projected hiring range for a position, level and potential work location(s) listed.  Topcon provides the compensation range that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. This compensation range is based on a full-time schedule.   

Bonus eligible:

 In addition to base pay, compensation for this position includes eligibility for a 10% annual bonus.
