We are actively seeking a Sr. Human Resources Manager, based in Japan to support our employees across the Asia region. This is a hybrid position with offices in Tokyo and occasional travel as needed.

Position Summary

The Sr. HR Manager will partner with our leaders in Japan and multiple countries across Asia to drive our growth. In collaboration with the leadership teams, you’ll create a work environment that is inspiring and highly productive, with a collaborative spirit and “make it happen” style.  

Reporting to the Regional HR leader, you will work with designated client groups across all HR practices including organization design, talent development and performance coaching.  In providing these services, the role must ensure local compliance with regulations along with Rimini Street’s policies and procedures.

You will be critical in communicating and delivering local and global HR strategies and processes to a regional client base.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Business Partnering:  Establish and maintain strong collaborative business partner relationships with leaders and colleagues across the organization, and through these partnerships, deliver business driven HR solutions that support regional and global needs, including preparing leadership for changes and scaling for growth in the region.Compensation and Benefits: Work with the Total Rewards team on scoping roles, building career ladders, and advising on salary recommendations, bonuses, and managing country specific benefit programs.Talent Management and Workforce Planning: collaborate with leaders on organizational design, job descriptions, priorities of talent related roles, as well as ongoing performance management/goal setting.Analytics: Use data and people metrics to analyze and shape people strategy. Will prepare dashboards of relevant data, share the data and story behind the data regularly with leaders in order to take actions.Employee Engagement & Development: Create HR programs that strengthen the employee experience.  Work on local/departmental programs and where possible leverage engagement survey results to communicate and take actions with local teams.Employee Relations: Influence, coach and provide expert advice to managers on complex people and change issues. Will often work with people managers on performance improvement conversations and Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) documents as well as terminations or position eliminations.Compliance: Responsible for maintaining local/regional handbooks which follow local regulations and align with global standards where possible. Communication or training for managers and employees may be required.Global HR leadership: May also have a support role in building new (or improving existing) HR programs, processes and initiatives.Perform other duties as required including participation on committees and special projects.

Education

Bachelor of Business majoring in HR or related field preferred.

Hybrid - Tokyo

Experience

A minimum of 10+ years’ experience within a similar position and proven success across multiple HR disciplines.

Skills

Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build rapport with stakeholders a proven track record as a team player, collaborator, coach and facilitator.Demonstrated ability to understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity, and development of HR function to the benefit of the overall business.Experience working in a matrix organization within a global company, as is supporting the APAC region.Tech savvy with effective use of Microsoft tools with Workday experience highly preferred.Excellent attention to detail.Ability to balance multiple tasks with varying levels of priority and urgency.A strong ability to work on own initiative with drive and enthusiasm.Strong English & Japanese language skills both verbal and written
