Job Description:
Indorama Ventures - Indovinya is currently looking for a dynamic individual to work as a Sr. Import/Export Coordinator in The Woodlands, TX. The Senior Import/Export Coordinator in the chemical industry is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the import and export processes. This role ensures compliance with international trade regulations, coordinates with suppliers and freight forwarders, and manages the documentation required for the smooth and efficient transportation of goods across borders. The coordinator will also handle issue escalation, provide training to team members, and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations.
What will be expected from you?
Import and Export Management
Coordinate and oversee the import and export processes, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.Prepare and manage all necessary documentation for the import and export of goods, including invoices, bills of lading, packing lists, and certificates of origin.Work closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure timely and accurate shipment and delivery of goods.Monitor and track shipments to ensure they are on schedule and address any delays or issues that arise.Resolve any issues related to customs clearance, including tariff classifications, duties, and taxes.Compliance and Regulations
Stay up-to-date with international trade regulations and ensure the company’s import/export activities comply with all legal requirements.Conduct regular audits of import/export documentation and processes to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.Provide guidance and training to team members on import/export regulations and best practices.Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to streamline and improve import/export processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.Implement process improvements and track their impact on the efficiency and effectiveness of import/export operations.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement best practices for international trade.Issue Resolution
Manage and resolve complex issues related to import/export activities, including shipping delays, customs holds, and compliance challenges.Develop and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues.Act as the primary point of contact for escalation of import/export issues and provide timely and effective solutions.What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?
High school degree or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.Minimum of 5+ years of experience in import/export coordination or logistics; familiarity with customs regulations and international shipping.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook.Demonstrated SAP and Oracle experience – Preferably in Order to Cash/Sales and Distribution.Effective interpersonal and communication skills – both verbal and written.Ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks with minimal supervision.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Demonstrate a sense of urgency, flexibility, and adaptability.Able to support On Call escalation approximately 1 week per month.What can we offer you?
