Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Apply Industrial Engineering concepts to improve product and information flow, define capacity, set up cost per unit, reduce complexity, and reduce costs optimizing resources.
Key Responsibilities Assures that Actual Manufacturing Cost models are updated and accurate Layout Stretch cost target plan by basket of goods Sustains product / Cost structure in SAP Support accuracy for Activity rates Works with operation and SC to define planning capacity in SAP Provide training and guidance for IE Resources Assures that IE metrics and deliverables are met Assures alignment and provide input into IE Regional Strategy Support manufacturing projects that link into SAP / PN structure Experiences/Education - Required Bachelor's in Industrial or Engineering 5+ years of experience in manufacturing Ability to apply industrial engineering skills:capacity analysis

implementation and analysis
cycle time reduction
line balance/staffing, work cell design
manufacturing / business processes

process simulation model development
Ability to deliver under tight deadlines and handle multiple/detail-oriented tasks Proficient English SAP Sound decision-making and prioritization skills Strong data analysis and statistical skills Experiences/Education - Desired Certified Green Belt. Data analytical software (SPSS, Minitab, SPC XL). Knowledge of basic inventory management techniques, planning systems / scheduling systems, supply chain management Knowledge of manufacturing accounting and control. Knowledge of manufacturing excellence tools (AME, KT, Lean) Strong Leadership Skills to effectively manage cross functional teams Proficiency with key PC software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab/SPC XL, Visio, Mind Map) Project Management experience Demonstrated delivery of results through project with Cost Reduction, Methodologies and organizational leadership.
