Sr. Infrastructure Resilience Project Manager
APTIM
**Job Overview:**
APTIM, a leading engineering and resilience consulting firm with a global presence and an expanding Infrastructure Adaptation and Climate Resilience practice, is hiring a Senior Infrastructure Resilience Project Manager to join our multidisciplinary team. This position will play a strategic role in delivering risk-informed design solutions and guiding the integration of resilience into infrastructure, utility, transportation, and waterfront systems.
The ideal candidate brings 8--12 years of experience in climate adaptation, coastal infrastructure, vulnerability assessments, or hazard mitigation, and is comfortable working across diverse technical teams. This is a high-growth opportunity to lead complex projects, mentor junior staff, and influence the next generation of resilient infrastructure.
**Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:**
Lead or support the design and implementation of infrastructure adaptation and climate resilience projects.
+ Manage full scope of infrastructure resilience projects--including financials, staffing, schedule, and subcontractors--while serving as the primary client liaison and delivering high-quality reports, presentations, and stakeholder coordination for public and private sector clients.
+ Apply technical knowledge to assess vulnerabilities, model risks, and evaluate mitigation strategies.
+ Conduct rigorous quality control reviews of complex and large-scale datasets, identifying inconsistencies, errors, and data integrity issues, and developing practical solutions to ensure accuracy and reliability in technical analyses and deliverables.
+ Perform benefit-cost analyses and resilience ROI evaluations for infrastructure investments.
+ Interface with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, planners, and data scientists.
+ Lead multidisciplinary teams integrating engineering, planning, GIS, and digital modeling tools (e.g., HEC-RAS, ArcGIS, StormWise) to conduct flood and climate hazard assessments, develop adaptation strategies, and prepare resilience-focused business cases.
+ Manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and deliverables across multiple clients.
+ Prepare technical reports, memos, and grant-related documentation.
+ Conduct stakeholder meetings, workshops, and public presentations.
+ Support business development, proposal writing, and client engagement.
+ Develop or guide use of geospatial tools, scenario models, and visualization platforms.
+ Stay abreast of federal and state resilience policies, funding opportunities, and design standards.
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Coastal, Structural, or Environmental Engineering, or related field.
+ 8--12 years of experience in infrastructure resilience, hazard mitigation, flood adaptation, or coastal/waterfront engineering.
+ Working knowledge of flood control infrastructure, stormwater management systems, erosion control, building envelope hardening, energy systems, and transportation adaptation--with the ability to support the development of conceptual mitigation designs for these systems in climate resilience and hazard mitigation contexts.
+ Strong technical writing skills and experience leading or contributing to complex planning and design reports.
+ Proficiency with GIS, climate tools (e.g., NOAA SLR Viewer, USACE projections), and Microsoft Excel or Power BI.
+ Familiarity with FDEP Resilient Florida Grant Program. Familiarity with FEMA, BRIC, CDBG-MIT, or other federal resilience funding programs.
+ Experience with permitting, design, or construction of resilient infrastructure preferred.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in remote and hybrid teams.
+ Willingness to travel occasionally to support client needs across the region.
+ Professional licensure (PE or equivalent) preferred but not required.
+ Willingness to travel in support of business and project activities.
+ Preferred office locations are in Boca Raton, Winter Garden or Tampa, Florida.
**Preferred Skills:**
+ Experience with Envision, LEED, WEDG, or similar resilience frameworks.
+ Knowledge of Florida-specific infrastructure, ecosystems, and regulatory landscape. Knowledge of critical infrastructure vulnerability, risk modeling, and system interdependencies.
+ Background in nature-based solutions, green-grey infrastructure, or urban heat mitigation.
+ Demonstrated success mentoring junior staff or leading cross-functional teams.
+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to build a positive team culture, identify team-building opportunities, and inspire others to contribute to shared goals in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
