The Senior Instructional Designer role encompasses an advanced level of responsibility and leadership in instructional design. This position builds upon the foundation of an Instructional Designer and involves additional strategic contributions. Senior Instructional Designers are responsible for shaping team culture, providing feedback, mentoring team members, introducing innovative instructional design concepts, and ensuring the quality and effectiveness of instructional materials. This role plays a pivotal role in guiding the strategic direction of the instructional design team while actively leading and participating in complex and high-impact projects.
ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS/DUTIES:
Design and develop training course material (instructor-led, computer-based, job aides, lesson plans, & assessments) using instructional design techniques in conjunction with adult learning theory.Align learning objectives with business goals while ensuring quality and accuracy of materials.Outline, storyboard, script, and clearly communicate design ideas and next steps during all parts of the design & development process.Use data-driven insights to assess the state of training content to drive improvements in learning effectiveness and creativity.Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to determine training strategies and bridge knowledge, skills, or behavior gaps for learners.Work collaboratively to determine the best method for delivery.Actively engage in project management by creating effective project plans, managing individual and team projects, and adjusting plans as required.Utilize project management tools like Asana to establish, monitor, and track project progress, tasks, and timelines.Review ID-submitted work to ensure it aligns with the established instructional design standards.Provide positive and constructive feedback to team members and partners to support their professional growth.Mentor team members to help them address skill gaps and enhance their instructional design capabilities.Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.Perform other duties as assigned.SKILLS:

Strong project management skills, including the ability to meet tight deadlines, manage multiple projects, and prioritize tasks effectively.Exceptional written and oral communication skills.Expertise in adult learning and instructional design for various formats, including instructor-led, eLearning, mobile, and performance support.Proficient in creating engaging learning experiences that emphasize the importance of the content and sustain learner attention.Strong collaboration skills, working with a broad range of stakeholders and internal partners to create innovative solutions, give and receive feedback, and creatively solve problems.Superior organizational, communication, and project management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines, manage multiple projects, and prioritize tasks.Experience using software such as Microsoft Office, Articulate Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.Soft/Leadership skills:

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree OR equivalent combination of education and experience.At least five (5) years of experience in curriculum and instructional design.Proficient with project or program management.Preferred Education and Experience
At least five (5) years of experience applying instructional design and adult learning methodologies to web-based training and instructional materials.
