Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

To bridge the gap between manufacturing operations and IT systems. Design, implement, and support Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to optimize production, improve quality, reduce costs, and enhance decision-making in manufacturing environments. Lead teams requiring strong technical and communication skills.

 

Key Responsibilities Modification of systems to fix errors, improve their performance and carry out updates Programming and documentation of the generated systems. Design and coding of software systems using the analysis carried out previously to the requirements High sense of urgency. The programmer will work closely with other members of the IT team, as well as with other departments in 4 different countries, to ensure the MES system meets the needs of the organization. This includes gathering and understanding system requirements, and providing training or assistance as needed. The programmer will be responsible for creating and maintaining system documentation, including technical specifications, user manuals, and system reports. This documentation should be kept up-to-date and accurate. The programmer will assist in training users on how to use the MES system and provide support when they encounter difficulties or have questions. The programmer will provide ongoing maintenance and support for the critical MES system. This includes troubleshooting issues, resolving problems, and implementing updates or enhancements to the system. This support may be after work hours. The programmer will frequently encounter challenges and issues that need to be resolved. The ability to think critically, analyze problems, and find effective solutions is crucial. The programmer will often need to work as part of a team, so good teamwork skills are essential. Education Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience Experiences 5 years .NET knowledge 5 years Programming languages C #, VB.Net 5 years Knowledge of TSQL (stored procedures, views, jobs, SSIS) Knowledge of MSMQ, XML, Xpath, Xquery Terminal services configuration IDE VS 2012 or higher Creation of Windows Services Knowledge of ASP MVC Web Applications Knowledge of API RESTful Knowledge to manage projects and tasks in JIRA software Knowledge of WPF projects
