Sr. Lead Software Engineer

Broadridge is currently seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer with expertise in AWS/Java/Kafka. This position is hybrid, meaning you will be linked to a Broadridge office with the flexibility to work remotely. Responsibilities: + Collaborate and provide technical and strategic leadership with the VP of Software Engineering and other senior engineers to establish consistent software design guidelines and standard methodologies for the software development team. + You will be responsible for oversight of all the team responsibilities and function as an escalation point for the team. + Provide leadership in the development and implementation of web-based solutions. + Partner with business and product teams to create technology solutions for business issues. + Focus on developing high-quality software, mentoring team members, and fostering a collaborative atmosphere. + Keep abreast of the latest technology trends in relevant areas. + Interact with multiple areas in Information Services, outside vendors and business unit staff in the delivery of technology solutions. + Promote unit testing in development, ensuring comprehensive documentation and the development of automated tests. + Responsible for all aspects of designated application support including development, code installation, incident management, problem management, proactive maintenance, problem resolution. + Collaborate with manager and teammates to build accurate estimates for assigned business support and project support development tasks, delivering reliable, reusable and supportable software on time and on-budget. + You will conduct or participate in peer reviews of code and technology solutions. + Uphold Broadridge's policies on data security and privacy. + Participate actively in agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, team design sessions, code reviews, and contribute to architectural decisions. + Write code adhering to best software engineering practices, with detailed design and documentation. + Provide accurate task estimates and review estimates for tasks assigned to others. + Work alongside the QA team to diagnose and resolve bugs and guide them on testing requirements for new code. + Work in AGILE methodology to develop software applications using an iterative approach. + Develop web applications using Java, Spring Batch, Spring Framework, and AFP file processing. + Leveraging AWS, Kafka and other cloud infrastructures. Qualifications: + 10+ years of experience in application programming, emphasizing Java principles, services, and methodologies. + 5+ years of experience in REST API development, debugging, and testing in an AWS environment. + 3+ years of leadership experience guiding development teams. + 3+ years actively involved in design, coding, coordination, and delivering quality software. + 5+ years working with AWS services including SQS, EC2, S3, API Gateway, RDS, Lambda, Cognito, and CloudWatch. + Preferred experience with DynamoDB and Aurora DB. + API integration experience with knowledge of HTTP, authentication, and tools like Postman or Fiddler. + Multiple years of experience with Kafka, focusing on event-driven architectures design and implementations. + Multiple years of experience in designing and building event-based, multi-region platforms. + Ability to mentor, delegate tasks, troubleshoot, monitor team progress, and report to leadership. + Proficient in JUnit and other unit testing methods. + Expertise in designing Swagger using JSON & YAML languages. + Skilled in logging frameworks and best practices in application logging. + Knowledge of performance tuning for applications with high volume. + Experience with Java web frameworks like Spring MVC, Spring Boot, or Micronaut. + Proficient in DevOps, CI/CD practices via Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes. + Familiarity with Git, JIRA, and Agile methodologies. + BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or equivalent discipline.
