Sr. Manager, Applications and Development, Customized Solutions US/Can

The Senior Manager is responsible for leading the technology development and commercialization of hydrocolloids and customized ingredient solutions within the United States and Canada.  This role will lead and develop new solutions based on the technical and business needs of customers and market.  In this role you will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Sales, Customer Innovation, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Procurement, and Supply Chain to facilitate development and continuous improvements.

Core Responsibilities:  

Develop a high-performance technical organization that cultivates an innovation culture and a growth mindset. 

Support execution of Solutions growth strategy by building technical capabilities for growth. 

Spearhead technology development and commercialization of customized formulations for customers and market needs within the United States and Canada.  

Provide prioritization and guidance on technical project plans to achieve key milestones with agility and deliver successful solutions to customers.  

Lead the development of an ingredient toolbox and working in coordination with procurement on the sourcing of these ingredients to offer differentiated solutions with robust supply chain. 

Lead development and analysis of new ingredients and technologies to be applied to creating solutions with definitive value propositions.  

Drive front end innovation to generate differentiated intellectual property and review strategy behind maintaining and defending that intellectual property.  

Review and develop methodologies and tools to be used for development and quality inspection of new solutions to accelerate development and first pass compliance.   

Manage relationships and communication between go-to-market teams and operations ensuring projects are delivered to the satisfaction of the customer internally and externally. 

Oversee and maintain knowledge management system for solutions working with other regions and globally to accelerate development efforts. 

Act as site leadership for budgeting, planning, and implementing both short- and long-term innovation equipment and technologies that allow for successful execution growth strategy. Site includes laboratories and pilot plant. 

 

Qualified candidates will have:  

BS degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related discipline with a minimum of 10 years of product development experience in formulating and process optimization.  Preferred Candidates will have MS or MBA along with necessary experience. 

Broad food ingredient knowledge in terms of Starches, Hydrocolloids, Proteins, Sweeteners as well as the impact that processing plays in optimizing the usage and selection of each of these ingredients. 

Significant experience in People Management, Project Management with experience in projects that required Legal, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Regulatory, and Supply chain constraints.   

Strong innovative and creative thinker with the ability to interpret scientific data, including sensory and analytical, and provide guidance on its impact to the customer and industry. 

Strong experience in leadership and managerial skills. Demonstrated ability to develop talent within team and translate strategy into clear objectives and deliverables.

Pay Range:

$141,200.00-$188,266.67 Annual

This pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).

Incentive Compensation:

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
