Hill's Pet Nutrition employs more than 200 veterinarians, Ph.D.-nutritionists and food scientists who work every day to create science-led nutrition that transforms pets' lives. Hill’s Food, Shelter & Love program provides nutrition to more than 900 animal welfare organizations in the US and Canada, ensuring that the dogs and cats in their care have access to science-led nutrition that helps them be healthy, happy, and more adoptable.
We are seeking a passionate and driven **Sr. Brand Engagement Manager** to oversee our commercial shelter program and lead initiatives that promote animal welfare and adopter loyalty. Reporting to the Director of Shelter and External Communications, this dynamic and highly visible role will be responsible for leading a team responsible for driving commercial excellence within our shelter program. This role will lead strategic initiatives aligned to the delivery of the shelter strategy which is connected to commercial objectives to enhance adopter loyalty through innovative programs for new pet parents, lead shelter-related marketing campaigns, oversee thought leadership opportunities, deliver educational programming and lead the Hill’s Disaster Relief Network.
**What You Will Do:**
Oversight of the Hill's Food, Shelter & Love Program - 40%
+ Lead a team responsible for strategy designed to grow and enhance commercial shelter program to drive brand awareness, recommendation and product conversion
+ Oversee implementation of tactical plans to ensure attainment of KPIs and financial objectives
+ Build and strengthen relationships with key leaders and staff members at strategic shelters, national non-profits and animal welfare organizations
+ Oversee key education/training programs targeted to animal welfare and veterinary healthcare team members to strengthen nutritional recommendations and program literacy
+ Develop Shelter GTM including shelter tiering classification, coverage and investment
+ Responsible for setting and delivering shelter KPIs (e.g. 1p Data) and governing compliance to partnership agreements
+ Play key role in support of Hill’s animal welfare strategy and broader social impact sustainability initiatives
+ Coaches, motivates and monitors team members’ performance through the development of actionable objectives linked to FSL objectives and commercial growth
+ Serve as external local and national program spokesperson as needed for conferences, media interviews, webinars, etc.
Strategic Initiatives - 30%
+ Lead comprehensive strategy for the New Pet Parent Program, both Vet Channel & Shelter, in coordination and cooperation with Brand, PVA and CDO teams
+ Implement and successfully manage strategic programs within the shelter channel including DTC and Hill’s Pro Staff Feeding with shelter partners
+ Lead the Hill’s Disaster Relief Network, collaborating with cross-functional teams to successfully respond to crisis during times in need
+ Lead relationship management and execution of strategic partnerships
Shelter Marketing Initiatives - 20%
+ Oversee implementation key marketing campaigns, tent poles and IMC initiatives
+ Serve as key stakeholder, in collaboration with brand team, in the development and execution of shelter marketing materials, including POP and digital assets
+ Work with brand team to ensure shelter is driving brand awareness and imagery attributes
+ Identify and maximize new retail opportunities within existing shelter partners
Conference & Events - 10%
+ Lead conferences and animal welfare events strategy; oversee internal team and agency partners in planning, activation and measurement
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s Degree
+ 10+ years of marketing or sales experience
+ Valid driver’s license with no moving violations
+ Able to work independently and to manage travel within geography/region. Able to fulfill travel requirements of the position (up to 25%)
+ Excellent communication, relationship building and presentation skills, tenacious and self-motivated
+ Excellent public speaking skills
+ Excellent time management skills, planning and handling budgets
+ Good analytical skills and basic understanding of business and business terminology
+ Good work ethic, professional appearance and approach, and high integrity
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Sales experience in animal health or animal welfare
+ Experience with non-profit human or animal organizations
+ Able to lift up to 50 pounds
**Compensation and Benefits**
Salary Range $116.000,00 - $163.000,00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
