Why is this role important?


Reporting to the Director, the Senior Manager will oversee the development of merchandising floor plans for stores within the Hard Discount format and support the design and execution of capital store projects. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with VPs, Specialists, Operators, Merchandising, and Real Estate teams to create merchandising plans that align with the format playbook and enhance store space productivity. Additionally, the Senior Manager will contribute to strategic projects for the division and lead the rollout of capital initiatives.

As a key member of the Capital & Merchandise Planning team, the Senior Manager will integrate category merchandising and operational standards to provide a consistent, data-driven approach to store planning.

Accountabilities:

Develop site-specific merchandising layouts using data to drive banner initiatives and optimize performance. Collaborate with supporting teams on strategy and design execution.Responsible for addressing and resolving any concerns or issues that arise between Store Development, Operations, and Category teams throughout the lifecycle of capital projects. Effectively manage stakeholder priorities while ensuring full alignment with established banner standards.Support strategic and category-driven projects for the format by offering input and feedback with a comprehensive, store-wide perspective. Execute approved concepts and pilots in-store and provide regular status updates when required.Provide support to teams managing strategic capital requests by assisting with data analysis, financial modeling, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Role Requirements:

Post-secondary education (university or college) or equivalent experience.5+ years of retail experience. Previous experience in store operations or category management is considered an asset.Strong analytical, problem solving, planning, strategic and consumer insight skills.Exceptional commitment to customer service with a strong sense of urgency.Excellent communication skills, both up, down, and across the enterprise.Delivers results in a high-pressure environment with the ability to set priorities and meet challenging deadlines.Periodic travel required
