Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY The Sr. Manager-Category Development studies industry dynamics, competitor assortment offerings, and consumer needs to create strategies that drive long-term growth for Post Consumer Brand’s pet portfolio. Serving as the go-to category expert, the Sr Manager- Category Development generates innovative ideas to capitalize on opportunities from channel, customer, product, packaging, and innovation performance that synergize with consumer needs. This role requires the ability to work in a dynamic and cross-functional environment with shifting job requirements and daily priorities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead, develop, and update category strategic initiatives to maximize growth potential Collaborate and influence portfolio optimization, brand planning, & innovation pipeline across the Pet organization Leverage data and insight resources to identify and create sustainable category opportunities Actively engage in consumer, shopper, and category insight workstreams to identify opportunities while delivering fact-based strategic selling through retailer activation Lead omnichannel activation and integration into all category deliverables and workstreams Identify requirements for tool development and data support systems to increase visibility and application Assist in creating category influence materials for strategy planning sessions, customer meetings, quarterly performance recaps ad hoc special projects. Demonstrate consistent thought leadership by driving strategic cross-functional projects, process development, and initiative execution, in addition to core responsibilities. Retain industry expertise through ongoing engagement in external events, communities, advancing category insights Qualifications EDUCATION: BA/BS degree required EXPERIENCE: 8+ years in Consumer-Packaged Goods industry 5+ years in Shopper Insights or Category Management experience Experience building relationships with customers/retailers Experience in the analysis of shopper / consumer-based CPG information SKILLS: Excellent organization and written / verbal communication skills Proficient in leveraging IRI or Nielsen, scan, and panel data Planogramming/Planogram software experience required (Ex. JDA Prospace) Ability to develop and translate insights into actions Strategic mindset to help build and execute effective plans Business & Financial Acumen CAPABILITIES: Proven track record of delivering exceptional results in a fast-paced, competitive environment. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization. Identify, research, and analyze problems and recommend optimal, sustainable short- & long-range solutions. Demonstrate a strong understanding of financial metrics and their impact on business performance. Effective written and verbal communication across all levels of the organization. WORK Location- This role is in our Lakeville, MN office with a hybrid schedule of in-office 3 days per week. The pay range for this position is $96,232 - $150,122 per year.
