*This is a 12-month contract, hybrid role in Toronto, with no flexibility to be fully remote* Description Our client, a multinational business software company, that specializes in financial software, is searching for a senior communications manager with strong experience in public relations, social media and influencer marketing. The right candidate will have a demonstrated track record of delivering integrated communications strategies, social campaigns, always-on social programs and influencer campaigns that drive measurable business results. This person will be responsible for partnering across the communications, marketing, strategy, legal, product and care teams to create and execute a robust integrated public relations and social media strategy. This role is an individual contributor and is a part of the Global Corporate Communications organization. Key responsibilities: ● Develop and deliver high-impact public relations strategy in Canada to drive category growth ● Lead proactive and reactive media relations strategy, including crisis communications ● Work effectively as part of issues management team to handle crises and high-profile issues deftly, protecting and furthering company and brand reputation ● Develop and execute social media strategy in partnership with marketing, strategy, and care, in support of key business unit goals ● Drive holistic social marketing program, including: social campaigns, always-on content creation, content calendar development, paid social, and community management ● Manage the influencer marketing program, including influencer identification, brief development and content development ● Lead agency partners and vendors to develop and execute impactful go-to-market strategies, across PR, social media and influencers ● Partner with marketing teams to develop product messaging and launch materials ● Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including marketing, strategy, product management, and customer support ● Display excellent verbal and written communications skills, with a keen ability to engage in meaningful and productive conversations, both online and off ● Represent communications strategies, plans and results across the organization, including presenting to senior executives ● Effectively manage budgets, vendor scopes of work, and resource allocation The ideal candidate will bring extensive communications experience in Canada with the ability to excel in an extremely fast-paced environment, collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead agency partners to deliver impactful campaigns. Has proven experience creating and executing innovative communications programs that have delivered a measurable increase in brand awareness, customer engagement and conversions. Is a self-starter that builds strong relationships – with internal stakeholders and agency partners – to deliver outstanding end-to-end business results with limited resources. Qualifications: ● 8-10 years’ experience in an agency or corporate environment, consumer, tech or finance preferred; ● Experience working within an agency environment and/or leading agencies and building collaborative, productive relationships with agency partners; ● Strong understanding of the Canadian media landscape, key media relationships a plus ● Proven experience in developing and executing innovative, impactful PR, social media and influencer strategies; ● Possess a strategic mindset, a creative approach, and proven ability to execute; ● Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and competing priorities; ● Analytical thinker with the ability to translate data and insights into actionable recommendations; ● A roll-up your sleeves get-it-done mindset; ● A passion for pop culture and an ability to engage diverse audiences; ● High degree of attention to detail; ● Confident decision making with a bias for action; ● Comfort with change and ambiguity; ● Strong networking, relationship-building, and collaboration skills; ● Team player player with a strong ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate proactively with key stakeholders; ● Excellent oral and written communication skills, including effective presentation skills; ● Established relationships with key media and social influencers; ● Early adopter of social media technologies with broad platform experience; ● Strong analytical skills and ability to leverage data to inform decision making; ● Excited to work in a hybrid role based in Toronto, Canada.
