Sr. Manager, Data Solutions Engineer

You will help us build and manage R&D data solutions while leveraging your technical skills to design, develop, analyze, and engineer robust solutions that drive business outcomes. This will include working on data modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation, and configuration management. You will leverage your knowledge of data mapping, mining, and transformation to design and develop data-driven solutions. You will be relied on to determine data storage and optimum storage requirements. You will prepare system requirements, source analysis, process analysis, and design throughout the solution implementation.

As a Lead Data Solutions Engineer, your advanced knowledge of the principles and concepts in the discipline, along with comprehensive knowledge of other disciplines, will enable you to lead complex projects across the division. Your ability to develop and manage plans will facilitate achieving objectives, interpreting internal and external business challenges, and recommending best practices for improvements. While managing complex project environments, you will be able to anticipate and troubleshoot roadblocks and influence teams to achieve targets for the division.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Design, develop, lead, and deliver projects that incorporate standards for data lakes, analytical reporting, and web-based analytics solutions to achieve business outcomes

Partner with other Pfizer Digital teams to define and execute technology-focused Proof of Concepts (POCs) using innovative technologies to advance Pfizer’s current capabilities

Engage with business stakeholders to help lead the prioritization of business requirements while identifying opportunities for technical synergy

Develop technical solutions aligned with business requirements across the Pfizer AIDA R&D organization

Work collaboratively with Platform teams for platform and infrastructure enablement, including platform/tool selections, architecture, estimation, and technical solution design

Partner with the AIDA solutions architecture team to ensure solutions are delivered with long-term viability in the forefront

Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and Pfizer software development lifecycle standards

Additional Key Responsibilities:

Data Architecture: Oversee the design and implementation of scalable data architectures

Data Quality: Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all systems

ETL Processes: Design and manage ETL processes to support data integration and analytics

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

Education: Bachelor's Degree

7+ years of experience with data or software engineering

Demonstrated success embedding algorithms in production applications.

Diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact

Proven knowledge and experience managing pharmaceutical clinical and scientific data including clinical trial data

Understands and uses analytical skills/tools to produce data in a clean, organized way to drive objective insights

Proven experience engineering end to end data solutions which cut across data acquisition, data lakes, web based analytical solutions.

Strong collaboration and communication skills within and across teams

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree

Relevant pharmaceutical industry experience

Graduate degree in either a technical or management discipline

Management consultant experience

Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, preferably within Research and Development

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $117,300.00 to $195,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
