Sr. Manager, IT Merchandising
Overview Foot Locker Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager, IT Merchandising to lead our product, planning, allocation, and catalog systems. This role is pivotal within a fast-paced and highly visible team focused on innovating technology solutions for our global omnichannel business. As part of the Foot Locker Retail technology team, you will report to the Senior Director of Merchandise Technologies. Responsibilities Lead and manage existing and emerging merchandising technology solutions, including those related to planning, allocation, and catalogs, aimed at modernizing our technology ecosystem. Oversee current projects and ensure their successful development and implementation. Design, own, and maintain technology lifecycle roadmaps for the merchandising technology portfolio. Conduct thorough business process analysis to produce custom solution specifications for large-scale projects. Drive transformation initiatives to foster an engineering culture within the team. Research cutting-edge technologies and processes to promote continuous improvement and innovation. Collaborate with both internal and external development teams to ensure solution delivery aligns with architectural standards. Navigate and resolve cross-functional issues while managing trade-offs and risks in line with IT objectives. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering or related IT fields. Proven expertise in software engineering management. Extensive knowledge of eCommerce and brick-and-mortar retail processes and technologies. Familiarity with technology solutions in merchandising, product planning, allocation, and catalogs. Leadership experience overseeing complex, enterprise-scale implementations. Deep experience in developing highly scalable and available distributed systems. Proficiency with tools and technologies such as Node.js, Angular.js, Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and Testing Automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Jasmine). Experience with collaboration, technical delivery, and CI/CD tools such as Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket, GitHub, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps. Understanding of PaaS services, containers, and orchestrations. Proven ability to work effectively with onshore and offshore development teams across various time zones. Familiarity with Scrum and Agile Development methodologies. Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to collaborate across IS&T, business functions, and external partners while having high self-awareness and influencing capabilities. Excellent technical presentation skills to engage with Senior Executives. Previous experience in a Fortune 500 company is preferred. Benefits The annual base salary range is $115,000 -$165,000. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
