The Senior Manager, Learning Experience Design oversees the development and delivery of innovative and engaging learning experiences for the organization. This role involves leading a team of learning experience designers, managing the design and implementation of learning initiatives and programs, and ensuring the learning solutions align with organizational goals. The incumbent will leverage best practices in instructional design, design thinking, learning technology, and adult learning theory to create scalable, impactful training programs. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Accountabilities
Sees design solutions as critical to helping the business move forward, acts as a technical expert for delivery of programs.Understands the voice of the employee and the ability to convey and relay learning solutions that are embedded into the flow of work.Manages production process from course design and planning through course launch, delegating tasks, and executing complete deliverables on time.Designs interventions with the result of embedding the learning; not just the tool.Constantly educates on business needs, challenges, and desires to help bring solutions to a multi-state healthcare workforce.Sets expectations and holds team accountable around design goals and outcomes tied to the business priorities.Design & Development of Learning Programs:
Champions a learner-centered approach, ensuring that learning experiences are relevant, engaging, and impactful.Participates in instructional design as a working manager 30% of the time.Oversees the creation of digital, blended, and instructor-led learning experiences, ensuring high-quality, learner-centric designs.Utilizes instructional design frameworks (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to guide content creation and course development.Manages design projections delegation with instructional designers. Must be a “doer” in addition to a leader. Must be able to perform all the functions of an instructional designer.Works closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather content and ensure instructional accuracy.Establishes standards and templates for consistency and excellence in learning design.Cross-functional Collaboration:
Partners with Leadership Development Director and Learning Business Partners (LBP) to prioritize and manage learning design projects.Partners with LPBs and stakeholders to define learning objectives based on the learning needs.Partners with Learning Operations team in ideating design considering technology integration (where appropriate).Collaborates with external vendors and partners as needed to bring in specialized expertise or resources.Learning Technology & Innovation:
Stays up to date with the latest trends and technologies in learning and development (L&D) and incorporates innovative tools such as Learning Management Systems (LMS), eLearning platforms, and social learning tools.Evaluates and selects appropriate learning technologies to enhance the learning experience.Provides guidance on design methodologies, technology tools, and learning evaluation techniques.Learning Evaluation & Continuous Improvement:
Evaluates effectiveness of learning programs to evaluate learners' reactions, the amount of learning and application that took place, and the impact on the business results. This includes travel to centers and Miami, FL to assist in the design and implementation of learning solutions.The role may require a mix of on-site and remote work, depending on organizational needs.Spoken and written fluency in EnglishThis job requires the use and exercise of independent judgment.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Organizational Development, or related field required (master's degree preferred) OR additional experience above the minimum may be considered in lieu of the required education on a year-for-year basisFive (5) to eight (8) years of experience in instructional design, learning experience design, inclusive of a combination of the following:3+ years people management experience or indirect/direct people manager experience leading workstreams, agile working teams or rotational leadership3+ years employee performance management experience assigning people resources effectively to projects3+ years demonstrated experience leading and navigating across a matrixed team and can quickly organize functional teams to design and develop learning projectsExperience in healthcare administration is preferredExperience with design thinking and Agile or other modern project management methodologies preferredCertified Talent Development Professional (CTDP), Certified Professional Learning Performance Professional (CPLP), Coaching Certification or similar certifications are highly desirableWe’re ChenMed and we’re transforming healthcare for seniors and changing America’s healthcare for the better.
