Our foodservice business supplies many of the top restaurant chains in the United States. Overview We are currently seeking a Senior Operational Excellence Manager for the Logistics Organization. This position will be responsible for creating and executing a strategic plan to standardize warehouse process, lead continuous improvement initiatives, teach lean principles to warehouse leaders and employees, and implement lean tools to drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This person will be responsible for setting clear standards and expectations for the warehouses, facilitating replication of best practices, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement. This serves as a change agent and coach for the site leaders, maintenance, their teams and the extended leadership network on effective deployment and execution. Responsibilities Champion and foster a consistent, data-driven, continuous improvement mindset throughout all the departments and employees within the plant. Clearly communicate the vision and translate it with the strategy and tactics necessary to drive improved results. Identify, justify, prioritize, and implement improvement initiatives to deliver measurable and sustainable results. Periodically conduct strategic reviews related to the effectiveness of operational excellence initiatives. Expand the use of Lean Six Sigma mindset and other operations excellence methodologies and tools, including Daily Management system, DMAIC, Kaizen, 5S, and waste minimization activities. Provide guidance as a subject matter expert. Prepare, communicate, and engage stakeholders on OPEX rollout plan for the plant including selection of key activities, priorities for rollout, scope (priority lines, area etc.) and glidepath for expected results. Partner with cross-functional owners to identify and establish relevant key performance indicators (KPIs). Develop and deploy governance systems, visual management systems, data collection, and reporting systems. Benchmark internally and externally. Be familiar with and drive the organization toward standards that exceed recognized industry best practices. Coach Department managers/pillar leaders to drive the implementation and execution alongside the plant operational excellence teams. Assists in training, coach and asses the plant autonomous and improvement teams. Build organizational capability and engagement. Mentor site leaders and facilitate change management activities to support a lean thinking enterprise. Develop a capability building strategy and its training solutions to advance critical competencies across the workforce and to infuse a continuous improvement culture across all levels of the organization. Partners with other plants in achieving YOY financial and KPI targets. Develop and implement lean training, coaching and assessment planning according to roll-out plans (as part of MOE initiatives) and in line with critical corporate priorities. Deliver appropriate training and coaching to lean knowledge and tools to warehouse teams; perform regular Gemba walks with warehouse leaders to ensure tools are being used and strategy is being implemented. Coach and mentor site leaders on tiered meeting structure. Key Partner in Selecting, training, and managing resources within the warehouse. Develop a capability building strategy and its training solutions to advance critical competencies across the workforce and to infuse a continuous improvement culture across all levels of the organization. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree required. A master’s degree is a plus LSS Black Belt certification required. Demonstrated experience creating/implementing a lean management system. Warehouse leadership experience in positions of increasing responsibility demonstrating excellence in results delivery and standardization of processes. Experience teaching and coaching OpEx tools to all organizational levels of a function. Experience in leading project teams and departments successfully, preferably in the consumer-packaged good industry Strong analytical mindset and project management experience Proven track record of implementing improvement projects that leads to measurable financial savings in a sustainable way. Working Conditions/Environment Works in a normal office environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, see, hear, sit, stand, talk, type, walk and bend while moving about the facility.
