Sr. Manager, Productivity Engineering, (M365, Sharepoint, Exchange) - REMOTE

Position Description

Our Senior Manager, (M365, Sharepoint, Exchange) is an engineering leader who leads their engineering team to innovate and build new engineering solutions & improve and enhance existing solutions. This Senior Manager will lead strategy and execution of a technical roadmap that will increase the velocity of delivering products and unlock new engineering capabilities. The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise to optimize performance of productivity tooling in the GEICO environment, unlock the value of productivity applications for end users, brainstorm solutions alongside engineers, and partner with stakeholder groups like Network, User Support, and Endpoint teams.

Position Responsibilities

As a Senior Manager, you will:

Lead projects involving productivity platforms like M365, Exchange, and Sharepoint -- including license management, migrations, sunsets, rollouts, and feature enhancementsWork with your Director to address project dependencies, negotiate and estimate incremental delivery dates for milestones with the stakeholder community, and deliver projects on timePartner with comms and change management stakeholders to align technical and non-technical project stepsReport on your team’s progress for key projects and other important measurables, in addition to presenting detailed plans to mitigate identified project risksUnderstand how requirements and design choices may impact systems across multiple areasEnsure extremely high uptime and priority support for mission-critical systemsCraft and deliver strategic and well-structured persuasive arguments to drive projects that drive process improvement, enhance cost leadership, and/or customer experienceDevelop the team budget and be accountable for reporting on results achieved at regular intervalsBe the direct people leader for your organizationInitiate and support performance evaluation of team membersCultivate a culture that motivates all levels of performers to higher levels of achievement Build and maintain relationships with your team members to support an environment of trustInfluence those you motivate and coach to be receptive to feedback by cultivating a culture that acknowledges and expects individuals to grow and be accountable as a result of the experience gained (growth mindset)Identify where technical or analytical skill gaps put future team deliverables at risk and craft a plan to remediate, consistently challenge team members to share knowledge and learn new technologiesProficiently execute difficult conversations on development and performanceManage up to leadership as well as give feedback when appropriateAdminister coaching plan(s) and Performance Improvement Plan(s)Compliant negotiation and execution of warning administration and/or involuntary terminationSignificantly contribute to the team planning process to include surfacing associate level proposals 

Qualifications

Tangible experience administrating Productivity tooling such as M365 Office Apps, Exchange, and Sharepoint. This role will have a heavy Microsoft product focus. Extensive knowledge of Active Directory and connections with other identity platforms like Workday.Experience leading vendor relationships, including knowledge of Microsoft enterprise licensing structuresExperience reporting out on project status, and assessing (then mitigating) areas of timeline or budget riskExperience as an engineering manager developing a roadmap and assigning work in macro (quarterly planning) and micro (sprint planning) time scalesProficiency in Project Management and work item management tools such as Azure DevOpsProficiency in Program Management tools such as MS Project, Visio, and ExcelExperience with application monitoring tools and performance assessmentsDemonstrated track record of constructing, interpreting, and applying metrics to your work and decision making, with ability to use those metrics to identify correlation between drivers and results, and using that information to drive prioritization and actionTangible people leadership experience managing high and low performing associatesUnderstanding of the Security and Compliance needs of the business and how that affects how your products are deployed and managed

 Experience

5+ years of engineering experience with Exchange and the broader M365 stack5+ years of people leadership experience in a technical environment5+ years in an enterprise-scale environment

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience


 

Annual Salary

$115,000.00 - $260,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
