Job Description
 

Sr. Manager, SAP OTC Architect

The Senior Manager, SAP OTC Architect is a critical role responsible for the overall solution design, implementation, and support of the enterprise SAP S/4 OTC business processes for both commercial and clinical operations. The role encompasses leadership of SAP S/4 Order Processing, Customer Maintenance, Pricing, AR, and Gross to Net processes, while managing the transition of Clinical Order Management from Oracle EBS to SAP S/4.

Essential Duties and Job Functions

Operations and Continuous Improvement Leadership

Lead the design, configuration, and optimization of SAP SD and Gross to Net Solutions for Gilead's Commercial business

Oversee production support for SAP OTC solutions supporting:

Trade Operations

Gross to Net processes

Government pricing integrations

Manage and evolve the SAP Order to Cash global template for Gilead Commercial Operations

Serve as System Manager for boundary applications supporting Order to Cash functions

Ensure system compliance with enterprise guidelines

Manage interim state of ERP Operations for APAC markets

Drive the extension of SAP OTC Commercial global template for APAC markets adhering to localization requirements

Strategic Architecture & Innovation

Partner with business and technical teams to architect effective SAP OTC solutions

Define and maintain technology roadmap for Commercial and Clinical Operations solutions globally

Recommend solutions and develop business cases aligned with future business direction

Lead complex design and technical discussions

Support creation of business architecture models for system interoperability

Stakeholder Management

Build and maintain effective relationships with:

Global Business Process Owners

Business Engagement BAs

Business Engagement Domain Architects

ERP Solution Architects

IT build and run resources

Develop trusted advisor relationships with senior leadership

Coordinate with extended IT teams for:

Change control

Quality assessment

Testing

Deployment management

Basic Qualifications:

8+ yrs of experience with Bachelor's Degree (BS/BA) OR 6+ yrs of experience with Master’s Degree (MS/MA or MBA)

8+ yrs of hands-on work experience in Solutions Architect/Business Process Management role within the Biotech / Pharmaceutical industry

Deep technical expertise in designing and configuring SAP SD

Strong knowledge in the following areas:

Sales and Distribution

Billing

Pricing (complex pricing procedures) and output routines

Contract Management solutions

EDI Integrations

Government pricing solutions relevant to OTC

Strong end to end business process knowledge in Plan to Deliver, Record to Report and Source to Settle functions

Strong Service Delivery approach with demonstrated Commercial and Clinical Order to Cash functional domain experience

Strong leadership/consultative, collaboration, and process improvement skills to facilitate alignment across multiple global geographies

Preferred Qualifications: ​

Ability to demonstrate his/her experience in delivering and supporting global information systems in a regulated environment for a diverse and distributed user base while relying on several Enterprise shared services

Ability to build internal and external relations and operating across functional boundaries

Ability to translate strategic opportunities and emerging technology solutions into tangible and practical plans that can be performed

Experience in business process re-engineering or process improvement, involving broad- based information systems, utilizing tools and techniques to effect business change

Experience with leading solution architecture, template design and project planning efforts for complex, global SAP deployments

Ability to develop clear and detailed business requirements and design specifications that can be understood by other delivery teams and business partners

Ability to translate business requirements into design options that are cost effective, efficient, re-usable that align with defined architectural principles and standards and that enhance the business process

Excellent analytical and problem solving, communication and presentation skills

Ability to understand business strategy and needs and support the translation into application requirements

Ability to create compelling business cases balancing business benefits and costs

Intellectual curiosity and the ability to question thought partners across functional areas

Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations

Solid understanding of basic system engineering, information risk and security guidelines and architecture standards

Ability to work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others to move toward consensus

The salary range for this position is: $169,320.00 - $219,120.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
