Sr. Manager, Strategic Finance - Autonomous Mobility & Delivery

As part of the Strategic Finance team, you will help scale the financial reporting, analytics, and planning capabilities for Uber’s growing AM&D (Autonomous Mobility and Delivery) line of business. **About the Role**
You will join the Strategic Initiatives team; a newly formed central and global finance team whose remit is to partner with the global business development, corporate development and AM&D Ops teams that are in charge of conceiving and negotiating world class partnerships and investments that help Uber achieve its key priorities and financial goals.
In this role you will be part of the taskforce whose mission is to advance Uber’s autonomous vehicles (AV) strategy and work on initiatives and partnerships that will help expand Uber’s product portfolio to include AV in the cities we operate in worldwide.
You will report to the Finance Director for Strategic Initiatives and in this role you will lead or contribute to a series of initiatives that broadly fit(s) the following areas i) overseeing financial performance for live deployments of autonomous vehicles and providing recommendations for improvement; ii) help establish the financial reporting and forecasting and planning cadence for autonomous including preparing key reviews with leadership; iii) support financial modelling and strategic planning for key initiatives and partnerships with AV companies to bring autonomous vehicles to the Uber platform and iv) further developing our AV economic model and supporting long-term financial planning related to our investments in AV; v) competitive intelligence and ad-hoc support for our Investor Relations team on inbound queries. You will work closely with Business Development, Operations, Strategy & Planning and Eng/Product to make this happen. This role will have a single direct report (analyst).
**What You'll Do**
- Conduct financial analysis and modeling to evaluate potential AV partnerships or initiatives, including revenue and cost projections, in conjunction with other teams including Corporate Development, Business Development, Operations as well regional Finance and Operations teams;
- Sophisticated financial modeling: Break complex business problems down into components, and build models from scratch as well as improve existing models
- Support the preparation of detailed financial reports and presentations for senior management covering proposed deals and partnerships.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Legal, Operations, and Strategy to execute transaction processes effectively;
- Create, optimize and share various weekly and monthly reports with our stakeholder base to keep them informed about the progress we are making;
- Financial & Operational Planning and deal execution: Partner with company leaders to develop financial forecasts and operational goals associated with targeted deals and partnerships; see to it the company delivers on stated objectives.
- Strategic Thinking & Execution Excellence: Partner with your team to execute projects and operationalize our insights
- Be creative, adaptive, and eager to learn new technical skill sets
**Basic Qualifications**
- BS/BA in Finance, Accounting, Economics
- A minimum of 8+ years in Corporate Finance, Banking, FP&A
- Prior experience at an Autonomous Vehicle software company is strongly preferred; OR background in M&A, Corporate Development, Private Equity or Strategy Consulting
**Preferred Qualifications**
- 10+ years of proven experience
- Msc / MBA in Finance, Accounting, Economics highly preferred,
- Excellent stakeholder management skills; you are confidently managing up, down and across to help and drive decisions. You are comfortable to speak up, challenge others (be the voice of reason, rooted in financial acumen) and be challenged yourself;
- Excellent communication skills: numbers are key, but a business is built with people and so your written and verbal communication is clear, concise and persuasive. You are a good storyteller and great with powerpoint;
- You have good business acumen and make it your mission to understand the business and the external landscape we operate it, in order to make your recommendations tailored and highly relevant;
- Strong analytical and strategic thinker; ability to dive deep into the weeds whilst never losing sight of the bigger picture; you can connect the dots across the various areas of your work to make relevant insights and recommendations.
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$186,000 per year - USD$207,000 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$186,000 per year - USD$207,000 per year.
