This role will be based in Sunnyvale, CA. The LinkedIn Product Engineering - Trust and AI Technical Program Management group is seeking a Senior Manager, Technical Program Management to join our team. The Trust Team at LinkedIn plays a vital role within the Product Engineering organization, comprising a dedicated group of engineers and technical program managers focused on ensuring the safety, security, and integrity of LinkedIn’s platform. As a Senior Manager, you will lead efforts in designing and implementing large-scale systems that address key trust, safety, and user protection challenges, including fraud detection, account security, content moderation, and privacy. Your work will directly contribute to creating a secure, trustworthy, and reliable experience for LinkedIn’s billion+ members worldwide. You will work with the leadership team to define, prioritize and drive project portfolios to successful and impactful delivery. You will also establish, measure and operationalize the right project management governance practices and frameworks with engineering and development teams. The ideal candidate will have an excellent balance of people, organizational, and excellent technical skills, and can execute and deliver successfully in situations where authority is not a given. Interaction and ability to influence leadership across functional lines is essential. Responsibilities: • Lead, build and manage the Trust Engineering and AI TPM team. Hire, develop, mentor and coach Technical Program Managers for TPM craft and build a high-performing team. • Understand, Plan and Deliver software and systems leveraging your team of TPMs. • Partner closely with internal customers and team leadership in defining the product’s technical roadmap, and make it a reality. • Develop strategic project roadmaps and resource plans in partnership with the leadership team. Partner with technical leadership on project execution and delivering successful outcomes. • Manage TPM assignment and planning / allocation and ensure portfolio and project health through appropriate resource allocation, prioritization and focus. • Create a collaborative work environment that fosters accountability, transparency, and excellence. Manage and maintain a prioritized Program backlogs based on highest business value and ensure forward momentum with project execution. Provide clean escalations to surface risks and remove roadblocks. Assess and mitigate risk exposure. Lead efforts to resolve project conflicts and establish appropriate resolution paths. • Evaluate, champion and drive adoption of appropriate Agile software development methodologies throughout the team. • Help teams be more efficient, see the big picture and ensure processes scale appropriately with the company and business growth. • Develop an overall understanding of the different lines of business and how they integrate through various programs. • Responsible for people management of a team, providing performance reviews, continual feedback, coaching and career growth for direct reports. • Develop strong partnerships with technology and business leaders. Basic Qualifications: • B.S./B.A. in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience. • 7+ years of people management experience managing technical and/or technical program management teams. • 5+ years of Technical program management experience. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience managing infrastructure based programs or projects. • Prior experience building or driving development of large-scale trust and safety systems or AI platforms. • Prior experience managing first line managers is a plus. • Knowledge of Agile methods and practices through multiple teams (Scrum / Kanban). • Practical and theoretical understanding of managing the lifecycle of large-scale programs and projects. • Communication skills, skilled at cross-functional and cross-organizational communication and attention to detail. • Ability to traverse both vertically and horizontally in a large organization. • Experience managing tactical and strategic objectives. • Experience in planning and collaboration tools. The pay range for this role is $160,000 to $262,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
