We're looking for an experienced Senior Manager of Technical Writing to lead a team dedicated to creating clear, compelling, and user-friendly documentation. In this role, you'll shape the strategy, development, and delivery of high-quality content that helps our customers successfully build and deploy AI agents on our automation platform. Join us and help drive the future of AI-powered automation! **Who you’ll report to:** This role will report to our VP, UX Design and Documentation **Location:** Hybrid role with regular onsite work at our San Jose, CA office required **You will make an impact by being responsible for:** + **Leading and mentoring:** Managing a team of talented technical writers, fostering their growth and development through coaching, feedback, and performance management + **Developing and implementing a content strategy:** Defining the vision, goals, and roadmap for our technical documentation, ensuring alignment with product releases, marketing initiatives, and customer needs + **Overseeing all aspects of documentation creation:** Guiding the team in planning, writing, editing, and publishing a wide range of content, including; product and API documentation, in-product guides, walkthroughs, and tutorials + **Driving content excellence:** Establishing and enforcing style guides, quality standards, and content governance processes to ensure consistency, accuracy, and clarity across all documentation + **Championing user-centered design:** Advocating for the user experience in all aspects of documentation, ensuring content is accessible, engaging, and effective in helping users achieve their goals + **Collaborating cross-functionally:** Partnering closely with product management, engineering, marketing, and customer support to gather information, understand user needs, and ensure documentation is aligned with product development cycles + **Measuring and analyzing content effectiveness:** Tracking key metrics to assess the impact of documentation on user engagement, product adoption, and support costs + **Staying ahead of the curve:** Continuously researching and evaluating new tools, technologies, and industry best practices to improve content quality and team efficiency **You will be a great fit if you have:** + Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, Business, or a related field + 10+ years of overall work experience, with at least 8+ years in technical writing + 3+ years in a leadership role, with proven experience managing and mentoring a team of writers + Familiar with AI concepts, technologies, and applications + Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail + Experience with API documentation and developer tools + Significant experience working with a product engagement solution (e.g. Pendo, Walkme) + Familiarity with content management systems, authoring tools and product engagement platforms + Understanding of user-centered design principles + Experience in a fast-paced startup environment a plus + Experience with video tutorials or interactive learning experiences a plus **You excel in these key competencies:** + Passion for AI and a desire to contribute to the growth of a cutting-edge technology company + Strategic vision with the ability to execute and drive measurable impact + Strong leadership and people management skills, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement + Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across global teams + Adaptability and problem-solving mindset to navigate complex business challenges + Ability to influence and inspire teams while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment The base salary range for this position in California, New York, and Washington is $175,000 – $190,000 and outside of those locations is $165,000 – 180,000 a year. The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors.
