Scope of leadership role
Under general guidance from the IPS Segment this position will primarily be responsible for overall governance and oversight over accounting processes and procedures within the IPS segment. This includes reviewing current accounting processes and procedures and developing improvements and training programs to establish an efficient and effective control and reporting environment. This role will work closely with site personnel to identify opportunities and develop improvement opportunities that will be presented to segment leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Drive the strategic direction and execution of accounting process improvement across the segment in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP) and other relevant statutory, governmental or professional guidelines.Perform balance sheet analytics to inform leadership of potential risk areas and present process improvement ideas leading to eventual implementation.Interact with segment leadership to identify and discuss key target areas and ad-hoc analysis requirements.Work closely with Segment CFO and Controller, providing routine updates and workshopping ideas and proposals to put into action.Develop an annual plan to identify scope of review for the upcoming year, developing a rotational cadence to ensure all areas are reviewed over a period of time.Consolidate and analyze externally reported data, ensuring that data is captured accurately and consistently across the segment.Support local teams with developing audit finding remediation and ensure sites are implementing remediation solutions on a timely basis.Act as Liaison between site and various corporate associates, such as Corporate Accounting, Corporate Compliance, External Reporting, and Internal Audit, to ensure that site activities/processes meet the needs of the corporation.Support finance transformation and the implementation of the new financial consolidation system.Perform training to ensure site personnel are appropriately completing tasks/controls in accordance with policy and consistently across the segment.Review key reserves for the segment, ensuring appropriate judgment is used and consistently applied.Develop Standard Operating Procedures to memorialize processes deemed best practice, creating a repository of documentation and training with easy access for all.PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably majoring in Accounting or FinanceCPA preferred. MBA or other advanced degree a plus.Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related field;8+ years of relevant experience preferred.Demonstrated leadership capability. Supervisory experience preferred.ERP experience required. Experience using major ERP Systems and/or consolidation systems preferred.Experience in a shared services and/or manufacturing environment preferred.External or Internal Audit experience a plus.Critical competencies

Limited travel (under 20%) associated with potential site visits for in depth analysis or balance sheet reviews.Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring company sponsorship to obtain or keep U.S. work authorization
