Job Description
 

Reporting to the Director of Commercial Learning and Development for HIV PrEP, the Sr. Manager will oversee the development, implementation, and sustainment of training programs for the Field Reimbursement and Nurse Educator Teams within the HIV PrEP Business.  The ideal candidate will have expertise in payer coverage, reimbursement processes, and customer facing nurse education needs, with a strong passion for enabling new hires to succeed in navigating the complex environments.

This position is posted as either a Remote position (25-30% travel) or Head Quarters (15-20% travel) based on the successful candidate making an informed choice. Travel is required to attend meetings, training events and field visits.

Essential Duties and Job Functions:

Lead and collaborate on the development and implementation of knowledge/skill-based training focused on ensuring success through focusing on the reimbursement landscape and processes.

Facilitate comprehensive onboarding sessions, covering reimbursement strategies, coding practices, payer coverage, and patient support programs.

Develop and Deliver Effective Instruction: Equip nurse educators with the skills to design, present, and evaluate engaging, evidence-based training programs that effectively enhance the clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and teaching capabilities of nursing staff, ensuring they can foster a culture of continuous learning and patient-centered care.

Develops and executes training with a specific focus on our new hire program as well as account management skills, product knowledge, product launches, communication skills, phased trainings, sales meeting training workshops, ongoing learning sustainment programs.

Collaborates with and supports relevant internal departments, including Managed Markets, Marketing, Commercial (Field Sales, National Accounts, Regional Trainers), Commercial Operations, Global L&D, Medical Information, Legal, Business Conduct and Regulatory to develop appropriate training.

Collaborates with internal customers including Compliance/Legal, Marketing and Patient Support to ensure training materials and workshops are current, effective and compliant with regulatory guidelines.

Partners with external vendors to design curricula or programs and planning of instructional methods and materials using adult learning principles and advanced AI offerings.

Effectively prepares for instruction by conducting needs assessments, identifying targeted participant characteristics, and soliciting cross-functional feedback before finalizing content and strategy.

Offers solutions for bridging gaps between current organizational capabilities and needs.

Partners with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to identify training needs, improve training solutions and lead change initiative implementation.

Monitors and maintains alignment with Commercial group’s strategic training plan while balancing short-term and long-term business goals.

Manages budget (accruals and invoices) aligned with both the development of training resources and / or POA / for NSM, MYM and trainings.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

Prior Field Reimbursement, HUB and/or Nurse educator experience

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Teams and PowerPoint, particularly as used in the development of instructional content.

Highly self-motivated and self-managed; ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal coaching or supervision.

Ability to organize and work under strict time and production deadlines, while producing quality deliverables and approvals through business compliance.

Good organization skills, time management, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks are all prerequisites of an effective project manager.

Excellent facilitation and communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to simultaneously handle a large and diverse number of technical tasks and issues with tact, cooperation and persistence.

Demonstrated ability to build consensus and gain alignment with key stakeholders

Demonstrated ability to lead without authority

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Comfortable working with people at all levels of the organization globally as well as with suppliers, vendors and customers.

Ability to effectively communicate in visual, oral and written presentation forms.

Ability to effectively manage a project from its initiation to delivery, either as live training or as a virtual deliverable.

Ability to effectively manage multiple vendors from selection to final deliverable

Must have the ability to focus on performance by establishing clear objectives for the training.

Strong interpersonal communication, facilitation, problem solving, decision making and analytical skills.

Basic Qualifications:

High School Degree and Twelve Year's Experience

OR

Associates Degree and Ten Years Experience

OR

Bachelor's Degree and Eight Years’ Experience

OR

Masters' Degree and Six Years’ Experience

OR

Ph.D.

Preferred Qualifications:

Extensive experience in Field Reimbursement, Nursing, HUB Services in managing reimbursement processes, supporting nursing teams, and overseeing HUB services.

Training experience as Regional Trainer, Commercial Learning and Development or similar.

MS degree plus 6 years in related field is desirable

8 years of commercial pharmaceutical/biotech experience

3 years of successful Field Sales experience

Prior commercial training experience

Experience in HIV is advantageous

Sales, marketing, or training experience in a competitive biotech/pharma marketplace (either branded or generic).

The salary range for this position is: $153,935.00 - $199,210.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
