About the Role

The position is responsible to provide effective investigations of potential frauds encountered by AIA China pursuant to the AIA Group Anti-Fraud Policy and Anti-Fraud Standards, as well as Group and local investigations Standard Operating Procedures. The individual will also add value to management by providing appropriate remedial recommendations based on findings/observations from investigations. He/She will be responsible for the delivery of investigation reports/findings and reporting to committees and management.

Roles and Responsibilities

Plan, lead and execute fraud investigations independently within AIA China pursuant to the AIA Group Anti-Fraud Policy and Anti-Fraud Standards, as well as Group and local investigations SOPs.Ensure that the working papers, draft reports, record keeping and other deliverables meet the Group standards set out in the Group Investigations Standards and Investigations Standard Operating Procedures as well as local investigations Standard Operating Procedures and investigations are completed within reasonable time.Prepare investigation reports and lead discussion of issues and recommendations with local Anti-Fraud Reporting Officer, the appropriate levels of local and Group management as well as the AIA Group Fraud Investigations Working Group.Provide professional advice and insights to management to enable informed management decisions.Work with AIA China Legal team on review and evaluation of information or evidence compiled for civil or criminal cases and/or regulatory investigations and support any related legal proceedings.Effectively supervise external consultants and relevant departments of Branch Offices to perform investigations (if applicable).Prepare and provide professional trainings to Branch Offices periodically to enhance the communication between each other.Liaise with the control community and other members of the company to help ensure appropriate remedial actions or enhancements are implemented for control weaknesses or improvement opportunities identified from investigations.Take the initiative in improving self through classroom and on-the-job trainings.Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by the Head of Legal and the Head of Investigations in order to meet operational and/or other requirements.

Job Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of relevant, in-depth forensic investigation experience. University graduates in Accountancy, Law, Audit is preferred.Professional qualifications (CFE, CPA, CIA, Legal) are an advantage. CFE is preferred.Good communication skills, verbally and in writing, with the ability to explain complex transactions and summarize evidence obtained in a clear and concise manner in Chinese and English. Strong experience in preparing investigation reports in Chinese and English.Fluent in English (verbal and written) is preferred.Strong experience with forensic interview techniques.Knowledge with data analytics and other software such as MS Excel, intermediate knowledge on IT.Knowledge of computer forensics, electronic discovery, and information security is preferred.Understanding of insurance and legislative/regulatory requirements is preferred.Ability to work under pressure and meet milestones within time, cost and quality constraints.Self-confident, self-motivated and good interpersonal skills.Willing to travel within China at short notice.Ability to understand Cantonese is preferred.
