Sr. Manager of Global Sustainability Program (Places)
**About the Role:** The Sustainability Manager is part of the Global Operations team , and a critical function supporting Uber Places strategic facility and regional service delivery goals. This role focuses on implementing a unified global-first approach to sustainability, ensuring business strategies are effectively communicated and aligned across multiple regions. The Global Operations team is responsible for optimizing processes, managing service provider relationships, and delivering scalable strategic initiatives. The Sustainability Manager leads efforts to embed sustainable practices into workplace operations, aligning programs with overarching business objectives. . Reporting to the Global Workplace Operations Lead, this role will drive Uber Places sustainability strategies while coordinating with regional teams and service providers to meet our Net Zero commitments and other key sustainability goals. **What You'll Do:** - Develop, implement, and manage sustainability workplace programs and initiatives globally: - Develop the Sustainability guidelines with the Transaction and Project Management teams. - Deliver and manage LEED, BREEAM and WELL certifications. - Responsible for Net Zero emissions from Corporate Real Estate Portfolio - Implement ESG initiatives as part of the Places’ goals - Collaborate with business units and regional teams to integrate sustainability strategies into operational workflows. - Manage relationships with service providers delivering sustainability initiatives to ensure alignment with goals. - Identified new third-parties for Uber to work with to deliver on the net zero emissions and own those relationships. - Identify and implement opportunities for energy efficiency, resource conservation, and other sustainable workplace practices. - Act as the data owner for Scope 1+2 emissions reporting, ensuring compliance with both voluntary and mandatory requirements. Manage the strategy and execution of Net Zero emissions goals for Corporate Operations - Monitor and report on the performance of sustainability programs, offering insights for improvement - Keep up to date with local and global sustainability trends and legislation, ensuring compliance across all operational areas. - Liaise with Uber’s Global Sustainability leadership and represent corporate operations in company wide discussions - Manage sustainability engagement programming. - Own Workplace Sustainability budget. - Manage CBRE data analyst supporting sustainability initiatives. **Basic Qualifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field. - A minimum of 8 years of experience in sustainability or related roles. **Preferred Qualifications:** - Master's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, or a related discipline. - Over 10 years of experience in sustainability or a similar role, ideally with experience in facilities management or operations., in the US and globally. - Knowledge of sustainability best practices and relevant legislation, including familiarity with relevant certifications (eg: WELL, LEED). - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in an accessible way. - Strong project management skills. - Experience with WELL, LEED and other certifications - Certified Sustainability Professional (CSP) or similar certification. - Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience collaborating with diverse teams. - Strong understanding of energy efficiency and resource conservation practices. - Experience in a tech or start-up environment focused on sustainability efforts. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$165,000 per year - USD$183,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
