Sr. Manager- SAP Business Dev and Apps

Job Summary:

This role will lead the SAP delivery team of 2-3 EEs and 5-7 consultants which will include managing workload, reviewing time sheets, resolving conflicts and providing technical architecture/guidance from time to time. This role will also support corporate business applications like CRM, Contract Management System etc.

The work will include working with the PMO and the functional team in leading the DEV side of the production support/sustainment work, implementing new features/modules in the SAP landscape as well as leading the development effort on upgrading the software. This role will need to co-ordinate the work assigned to multiple consultants as well as 3-4 permanent positions at HP Hood and document status updates on on-going work.

This role is also expected to lead the effort in introducing BTP into the DEV ecosystem – including CPI (Cloud Platform integration) and work with the Datawarehouse team to build out Datasphere.

This job role will need to communicate effectively with the developers as well as business users, and with Senior level management as needed. It is also critical that this role be very aware of all the major incidents that the SAP team is working on and be ready to provide status on a regular basis to Senior Management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Work with the DEV lead to develop the SAP RICEFW list for projects Review and finalize Design specs written by the team or third-party vendors Act as liaison between the technical team, the functional team and the business users  Build out a lean team of System Business Analysts Work with cross-functional teams to continuously improve the SDLC cycle Work with functional leads to re-engineer business processes and map processes to S/4 and FIORI functionality. Manage production incidents through proactive analysis and problem resolution to improve processes and systems. Communicate issues clearly and effectively with relevant stakeholders Ensuring deliverables meet quality assurance expectations by reinforcing peer reviews, review of Unit test documents etc. Provide thought leadership in support of the design, build and deployment of SAP functionality. Lead the effort in rolling out BTP to the DEV ecosystem Participate in determining change impacts and assist with change management; develop and conduct user training. Continue personal professional development in the areas of development, project management, SAP and other relevant information technology tools. Continue to expand knowledge of the company's business with a focus on understanding the impact the business processes have on internal operations.  Cross-train on business software applications used at the company, with an emphasis on maintaining knowledge of SAP S/4HANA ERP and FIORI.

 

Education and Experience:  

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Engineering, preferred, and at least 6 years of experience in SAP Application development (S4/Hana experience highly preferred). At least 2 years’ experience in leading a team, planning work and forecasting availability of resources for upcoming work. Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies required. A deep understanding of the following technologies and practice areas is required:    General Development standards     Integration across systems     Cloud Computing     Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio Experience managing the following technology areas are preferred, but not required:       SAP S/4HANA, including Fiori, BPC, CRM, and TPM       SAP BTP       SAP Cloud solutions, including IBP and Ariba       SAP ERP Systems, multiple core modules like Finance (FI), Materials Management (MM), Sales and Distribution (SD), Transportation       Management (TM), Extended Warehouse Management (EWM)       SAP PI-PO, Data Services, and CP-I       SAP EWM       OpenText ECM Experience working in a manufacturing or distribution package software applications support Experience working in a medium to large multi-location company, operating multiple shifts on a 7 x 24 basis, with a centralized IT function strongly preferred.

 

Skills and Competencies:

Strong analytical, problem solving, people co-ordination and project management and conflict resolution skills required. Embody the values of collaboration and team work. Experience working with a central IT PMO in managing complex projects, also able to independently manage small to medium projects Ability to multi-task between several items at once. Ability to react under pressure to any given situation that may arise, in a professional manner and with positive results, in support of a multi-location, 7 X 24 environment. Ability to work hard to effect change in a dynamic, high standards environment while maintaining a positive approach with management, peers, and subordinates. Ability and willingness to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Candidate will be expected to communicate to employees, management and suppliers via: face to face meetings, conference calls, written messages and application documentation.
