Sr. Manager - Yield Management

Responsible for leading the Freight Profitability department which includes National and Field customers. The Sr. Manager will work closely with many cross-functional teams to improve the profitability of customer pricing and contracts. The successful candidate will have strong collaborative leadership skills and ability to drive change and improvement. Primary Responsibilities + Evaluate current processes and systems, implement changes to optimize profitability and improve efficiency + Partner with National Account Executives to negotiate pricing and contracts + Support Pricing, Sales, Operations, and other functions within the company on customer profitability + Assist Costing Analysts with customer questions and help resolve issues + Maintain and develop strong relationships with customers + Manage team workload, accuracy, and prioritization of accounts + Provide continuous training to employees and ensure profitability annual metrics are met + Troubleshoot system, process errors and develop solutions + Perform deep-dive analysis on customer pricing profiles + Develop strategies to optimize profitability + Project support on an ad-hoc basis + Interact with senior management and act as liaison between customers and senior management to resolve customer issues. + Manage a team of National and Field analysts. Team size will vary, regularly at least 15 team members. Job Qualifications Education: + Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, mathematics, statistics or a related field preferred or equivalent work experience. Experience: + 10+ years of pricing and profitability experience in the transportation industry; preferably LTL + Knowledge of LTL rates including base rates, classes, weight breaks, FAKs, discounts, etc.… + Strong phone and verbal communication skills along with active listening skills + Ability to deal with different types of personalities and effectively handle high-stress situations in a calm manner + Ability to multi-task, set priorities and manage time effectively + Proven negotiation abilities + Proficient in English; good knowledge of additional languages desired + Proficiency with Office programs, such as Outlook, Excel, and Word Working Days: Shift and hours to be determined.
