Sr. Manager - Yield Management

Responsible for leading the Freight Profitability department which includes National and Field customers. The Sr. Manager will work closely with many cross-functional teams to improve the profitability of customer pricing and contracts.  The successful candidate will have strong collaborative leadership skills and ability to drive change and improvement.

Primary Responsibilities

Evaluate current processes and systems, implement changes to optimize profitability and improve efficiencyPartner with National Account Executives to negotiate pricing and contractsSupport Pricing, Sales, Operations, and other functions within the company on customer profitabilityAssist Costing Analysts with customer questions and help resolve issuesMaintain and develop strong relationships with customersManage team workload, accuracy, and prioritization of accountsProvide continuous training to employees and ensure profitability annual metrics are metTroubleshoot system, process errors and develop solutionsPerform deep-dive analysis on customer pricing profiles Develop strategies to optimize profitabilityProject support on an ad-hoc basisInteract with senior management and act as liaison between customers and senior management to resolve customer issues.Manage a team of National and Field analysts. Team size will vary, regularly at least 15 team members.  

Job Qualifications

Education:  

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, mathematics, statistics or a related field preferred or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

10+ years of pricing and profitability experience in the transportation industry; preferably LTLKnowledge of LTL rates including base rates, classes, weight breaks, FAKs, discounts, etc.…Strong phone and verbal communication skills along with active listening skillsAbility to deal with different types of personalities and effectively handle high-stress situations in a calm mannerAbility to multi-task, set priorities and manage time effectivelyProven negotiation abilitiesProficient in English; good knowledge of additional languages desiredProficiency with Office programs, such as Outlook, Excel, and Word
