This team member will be a self-starter, with the ability to work independently and execute tasks under general direction, and the job will require multi-tasking and active engagement in the Production environment.

This engineer will serve as an interface between the Production organization and the Engineering community, ensuring that released engineering packages are producible and can be integrated into the Production environment.

What You Will Be Doing
• Support ME tasks associated with product development through standing up a low-rate production product line.

• Creating manufacturing plans, reading engineering blue prints and understanding fundamental engineering concepts for production and prototype articles.

•Use 3D modeling software, preferably CATIAV5 or 3DX.

• Capable of manipulating engineering models and designs to determine assembly sequences and approach.

• Experience in Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related disciplines.

• Understand process improvement and technology insertion to improve the build process through Producibility and Cost Reduction initiatives.

• Work in support of Production mechanics and supervisors looking for opportunities to improve the build processes, eliminate repetitive defects and drive out unnecessary cost.

• Work with a great team of engineers, with ample hands-on opportunities, project management and engineering coordination tasks, and have a direct impact.

This position is in Palmdale, CA Discover Palmdale.
Basic Qualifications:
• Manufacturing Engineering Experience with fabrication and assembly in a production environment.

• Hands on experience in the fabrication of composite details and assemblies.

• Experience with RCCA and process improvement

• Ability to to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance per business requirements
Desired Skills:
• Bachelor's degree (Mechanical Engineering, or other related technical degree)

• Air Vehicle Component and Assembly/Build Floor support experience

• Problem Solving Skills - Demonstrated ability to drive issues to closure and develop workaround plans or corrective action plans

• Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with internal and cross functional teams; Production, IT, Facilities, Planning and Engineering

• AutoCAD or Catia V5 experience

• Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (ERP4C or SAP or TeamCenter and iBASEt) in a manufacturing/production environment

• Facilities and production area stand-up to include area organization and factory flow

Green belt certification.

Experience building LO/RF components

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $78,500 - $150,400. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $90,200 - $170,000. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
