Sr. Master Data Supervisor
Overview We are seeking a highly organized and detail-orientedSenior Master Data Supervisorto oversee the management and governance of master data across our organization. The Master Data Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and quality of master data, including overseeing data entry processes, implementing data governance policies, and supervising a team of data management professionals. The ideal candidate will have experience in data management, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with various departments. This role is ideal for a highly organized and experienced data management professional looking to supervise a team and ensure the integrity of master data across the organization, ultimately supporting business operations and decision-making. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Master Data Governance: + Lead and enforce master data governance policies, ensuring compliance with internal and external data standards. + Establish and maintain data governance frameworks, ensuring that data is properly categorized, defined, and standardized across systems. + Work with IT, operations, and other departments to ensure consistency in the use of master data across the organization. Data Quality Management: + Oversee the integrity, accuracy, and quality of master data, ensuring that data is complete, correct, and up to date. + Implement data quality controls and audits to identify and address discrepancies or data quality issues. + Monitor data entry processes to ensure they adhere to best practices and governance standards. Master Data Maintenance: + Supervise the process of entering and maintaining master data, including customer, supplier, product, and other critical organizational data in JDE + Ensure that data changes are properly validated, documented, and communicated to relevant stakeholders. + Oversee data migration projects, ensuring data integrity during transitions from legacy systems to new platforms. Team Supervision & Leadership: + Lead and mentor a team of data management professionals, providing guidance on data entry, governance, and data quality management practices. + Coordinate the team’s daily activities, ensuring that tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner. + Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide training to team members to improve their data management skills. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support: + Collaborate with other departments (e.g., IT, operations, finance, customer service, and accounting) to understand their data needs and ensure master data aligns with business requirements. + Support business units by ensuring they have access to clean, accurate, and reliable master data for decision-making purposes. + Act as a liaison between technical teams and business users to ensure effective use of master data systems. Process Improvement: + Continuously assess and improve master data processes, identifying areas for efficiency improvements and error reduction. + Lead initiatives to automate data management processes and streamline workflows. + Develop and implement data-related best practices and procedures across the organization. Data Reporting & Analysis: + Develop and deliver regular reports on master data quality, governance compliance, and team performance. + Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership on data-related challenges and opportunities. Compliance & Risk Management: + Ensure adherence to data privacy and security regulations, such as GDPR or HIPAA, in relation to master data. + Identify potential risks related to master data and take steps to mitigate them. Qualifications Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Data Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field; certifications in data management (e.g., CDMP) are a plus. + Minimum of 3 years of experience in data management, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role. + Strong knowledge of data governance principles, and data quality management. + JD Edwards, Bottomline, and other data management tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Salesforce). + Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis and reporting tools. + Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify data discrepancies and implement corrective actions. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. + Proven leadership and team management abilities. + High attention to detail and organizational skills. Preferred Skills: + Familiarity with data modeling and data architecture concepts. + Experience with data integration and migration projects. + Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Work Environment: + Training in office for 1st 90 days, Hybrid schedule per company policy. + Regular collaboration with cross-functional teams, including customers, customer relations, operations and finance.
