This role involves spearheading or partnering with interdisciplinary teams to design and develop innovative hardware solutions for robotic workcells. solving complex engineering problems with rigorous examination and validating designs through CAD models and prototypes. You will also oversee each stage of the product lifecycle. Driving seamless partnership with associate teams is crucial for successful product integration and launch. You will influence thorough engineering practices, including cradle-to-grave ownership and adherence to quality standards.
Key job responsibilities
- Guide or partner with interdisciplinary teams to design and develop robotic workcell components.
- Solve complex engineering problems with innovative hardware solutions, adapting to evolving requirements.
- Conduct rigorous inspections (FEA, hand calculations) and validate designs through CAD models and prototypes.
- Shepard all stages of the product lifecycle, from concept to release, including design documentation, testing, and manufacturing.
- Partner with software, science, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure successful product integration and launch.
- Advise thorough engineering practices, including end-to-end ownership and adherence to quality standards.

Work is performed in an environment where time is considered the most precious commodity. You will work across development teams to design and deliver the work cells. You will work directly with hardware engineers, software engineering, project management, quality, and safety teams to develop and manufacture your product at scale.
You will be part of a team of mechanical and systems engineers designing, building, testing and releasing end of arm tools that will be used to automate operations within the Amazon fulfillment network. The team is working on state-of-the-art end of arm tools and this will expose you to world-class opportunities to design and patent your ideas.
