About the job:
Kent is looking for a Senior Engineer II – Mechanical to be based in the Greater Chicago area.
Skills and Responsibilities: Provide Support to Mechanical Team on design, spec and data sheet development and vendor review processes.Produce studies and offer technical support.Implement and maintain all corporate and client standards on a given project.Maintain communication with associated discipline leads and client representatives and act as Lead on several mechanical projects of small to intermediate size.Prepare and plan mechanical engineering activities across the local project with GEC interaction.Maintain proper data sets and files including all supporting documentation for deliverables.Interface with materials and stress engineering.Assist with the production of all 2D and 3D deliverables internal and external via oversite and direction.Prepare proposals in conjunction with other discipline leads and project managers.Detail scopes of work and deliverables lists.Complete and maintain labor cost estimates in projects where acting Lead.Prepare and maintain project execution and deliverables schedules and staffing according to P6 curves.Manage resources in a cost-effective manner.Provide input to or oversee multiple small projects as required. Provide regular reporting and progress tracking as required by client and management.Create and maintain punch lists, master document registers etc.Develop EWPs and CWPs.Participate in quality audits and lessons learned sessions.Other duties as required.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.Valid Illinois P.E. preferred.10+ years of Mechanical experience in the Oil & Gas industry.Strong client focus and ability to represent the company professionally.Knowledge of Instrumentation: in-line, tapped, relief, and basic.Demonstrable experience working on projects in the Oil & Gas Sector.Field experience an asset.Familiarity with industry codes and standards and the use of client specifications for detailed design. Demonstrable proficiency in Compress, PVElite, FEA computation methods a requirement.
Communication:Effective communication skills (written and verbal). Behavior/ Core Competencies:Leadership skills, team player, proven multi-tasker with strong organizational skills.Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
