Sr. Medical Laboratory Technician**Sign-on bonus $2,000**
Overview Responsible for the overall operation of the assigned department. Conducts a variety of laboratory tests and duties according to established laboratory procedures, and in compliance with Cherokee Nation Policies and Procedures, Rural Health Guidelines and Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Clinical Laboratory Improvement, Amendments of 1988, Commission of Office Laboratory Accreditation and/or College of American Pathologists, or any other applicable rules, regulations and guidelines. Qualifications EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT Associate's degree from a 2-year college or technical school; or two years (60 credit hours) coursework from a 4-year college or university in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology or Microbiology; or three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS An additional three (3) years experience. COMPUTER SKILLS To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must be a registered Medical Laboratory Technician with the American Society of Clinical Pathologist or American Medical Technologists or equivalent and maintain throughout employment. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Must obtain CPR certification within six months of employment and maintain throughout the employment period. Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic bakground investigation and adjudication for child care. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
