You would be responsible for oversight of operations in the Special Testing laboratory. Testing includes infectious disease (hepatitis, HIV, measles, mumps, varicella), STD (chlamydia, gonorrhea, HPV, trichomonas), sepsis (procalcitonin), autoimmune disease (ANA, rheumatoid factor), diabetes (Hemoglobin A1c), hematology/oncology (electrophoresis, immunofixation electrophoresis).
What you will do:
Performs a variety of complex laboratory tests and procedures on neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients according to established standards: maintains and/or calibrates scientific equipment.
Provides teaching and education to lab students and other personnel.
Responsible for maintaining inspection readiness at all times.
Position Hours:
40 hours, Evening Shift, every other weekend; rotating holidays
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology
Must have a minimum of 5 years MT experience; Blood Bank Experience Required.

Exhibits strong interpersonal skill; technically competent. Ability to adequately use, or learn to use, the department’s computerized system and its associated devices. Adaptability and flexibility necessary for work schedule and patient care requirements. Good command of the English language and medical terminology
Must be able to cover alternate shifts (for call-offs, sicknesses, emergencies, other situations) and weekends and holidays as needed.
