Sr. Mental Health Clinician
**39345BR** **Extended Job Title:** Sr. Mental Health Clinician **Org Level 1:** Texas Tech Unv Hlth Sci Ctr El Paso **Position Description:** This a responsible professional position with limited administrative and supervisory duties at the unit level. Specific duties include testing, psychological evaluation and diagnostic services as well as counseling assigned patient caseload. This position functions under the supervision of a higher level licensed psychologist, but the individual has full professional responsibility for higher actions and advice. **Requisition ID:** 39345BR **Travel Required:** Up to 50% **Major/Essential Functions:** + Provides counseling with individuals, couples and families, and crisis intervention presenting with a wide range of psychiatric, medical, emotional, behavioral, and psychosocial concerns. + Establishes and maintains effective therapeutic relationships with patients. + Collaborates with other interdisciplinary treatment team members to support patient care. + Possess a working knowledge and experience in use of mental health diagnoses and treatment procedures. + Ensures timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) and completes assessment and treatment plans. + Obtain all necessary authorization to provide services. 100% of all services will have proper authorization on file. + Performs all other related duties, within the scope of practice, on an as needed basis or as required by Supervisor. + Employee Is responsible for performing all other relates duties, as assigned. Standard of Expected Performance. + Must adhere to deadline and criteria given by the person assigning the task to ensure completion of such: + No more than 2 complaints annually regarding poor service. + Communication: Communicates respectfully with team members and supervisor in a timely manner utilizing direct, complete, and adequate information. + Communicates with outside social service and government agencies in a professional manner, upholding and adhering to privacy standards on behalf of the patients. + Communicates effectively and productively with patients' family members as needed and permitted based on current policies. + When problems arise they are addressed directly with the person(s) involved or speaks with their supervisor exclusively. + Receives and is open to constructive feedback. Seeks feedback from others to improve clinical practice and safety. + As evidenced by expressed, demonstrated and written evidence of direct, respectful, complete and adequate communication with colleagues and supervisors. + And as evidenced by direct problem resolution with supervisors and colleagues and constructive response to feedback from supervisor and colleagues regarding safety, clinical and organizational. + Coordinates and maintains filing / record keeping systems. + Files and or records are easily accessed and in organized for easy retrieval of information. + Uses TTUHSC EMR for record keeping. + Adhere to all TTUHSCEP policies, procedures and processes. Personally demonstrate, display, and act in accordance with TTUHSCEP’s values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). + Actively promote and encourage staff across the institution. + Perform all other duties as assigned. **Grant Funded?:** Yes **Minimum Hire Rate:** Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications o **Pay Basis:** Monthly **Work Location:** El Paso **Preferred Qualifications:** + Licensed Professional Counselors(LPC), LPC-Associate, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or related. + Knowledge of current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) of Mental Disorders . + Ability to formulate treatment goals and apply appropriate clinical interventions using professional counseling practices. + Basic knowledge of professional counseling practice with emphasis on human development principles through cognitive, affective, behavioral or systemic interventions, and strategies that address high risk behaviors, wellness, personal growth, and career development across the life span. + Basic skill in the use of computer software applications for drafting documents, data management, maintaining accurate, timely and thorough clinical documentation and delivery ofservices, such as Telehealth. + Knowledge and understanding of existing relevant statutes, case laws, ethical codes, andregulations affecting professional practice of counseling . + Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with people from varied backgrounds. + The Applicant must be capable of working on several tasks simultaneously and does so according to designated time frames and level of importance. + The Applicant must have a strong work ethic and follow ethical guidelines. + Individual casework practice, crisis intervention, information andreferral, case management and interviewing. **Campus:** HSC - El Paso **Department:** Psychiatry Dept Elp Genl **Job Type:** Full Time **Pay Statement:** Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan.
