Role Summary As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer specializing, you will play a crucial role in developing and fine-tuning machine learning models, particularly Large Language Models (LLMs), to enhance our products and services. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish a robust infrastructure that supports the seamless deployment and scalability of ML/AI solutions. Responsibilities Design and Implement Agentic Systems: Architect and develop intelligent agents that utilize LLMs to automate workflows, optimize operations, and elevate user experiences across our internal and customer-facing applications. Integrate LLMs into Existing Infrastructure: Create robust and scalable integrations between LLMs and our current software ecosystem, facilitating seamless communication and data exchange. Drive Cognitive Automation: Leverage LLMs to automate complex cognitive tasks, such as information extraction, summarization, and question answering, to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Champion Full-Stack Development: Take ownership of the entire development lifecycle, from conceptualization and design to implementation and deployment, for machine learning-powered tools and applications. Establish Best Practices: Define and implement industry-leading standards for building production-grade, full-stack machine learning solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability. Stay Ahead of the Curve: Continuously research and experiment with emerging trends and techniques in machine learning and natural language processing, incorporating them into our solutions as appropriate. Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Machine Learning engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope, and deliver impactful solutions. Mentor and Guide: Share your expertise and provide guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. Qualifications Advanced Degree: Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field. Proven Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in machine learning and software engineering, with a focus on natural language processing and LLM applications. Strong Technical Skills: Expertise in Python, C++, Golang or similar programming languages, as well as machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch. Deep Understanding: Solid grasp of machine learning principles, algorithms, and evaluation metrics, as well as software engineering best practices. Production Experience: Demonstrated success in deploying and maintaining machine learning models in production environments. Collaborative Spirit: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team. Passion for Innovation: A genuine interest in exploring the latest advancements in machine learning and natural language processing and applying them to real-world challenges. Pay Disclosure Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $165,100.00 - $175,000.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law) Benefits Summary: Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26.
