Position Responsibilities:
1. Implement standards for new campus designs and equipment builds
2. Complex WAN/LAN designs utilizing best practice switching/routing technologies and topologies.
3. Planning and integration of new technologies within a large network environment.
4. Network impact analysis, modeling, network capacity planning
5. Engineering consultations of Level III network troubleshooting/problem resolutions, protocol analysis, network troubleshooting/problem determination skills with network trace/capture/analysis software
6. Understanding of end-to-end data flows and traffic patterns.
7. Software/hardware device upgrades, LAN equipment configurations/provisioning
8. IP addressing, variable length subnet masking, and Quality of Service
9. Wide Area Network technology provisioning and configuration (i.e. MPLS, SDWAN, SIP) and WAN equipment configurations for bandwidth rates from DSL to OC9.
10. Networking services for ACS, AAA, DHCP, DNS, ICMP and SNMP
11. Design and Support for network security technologies and products
12. Remote access technologies (i.e. VPN, SSL-VPN, IPSec, B2B)
13. Training/Mentoring other IT&S staff members
14. Problem management skills
15. Change management and project management principles
16. Occasional travel to support network construction, analysis, and network upgrades
