A Day in the Life...
Plan nutrition research activities to promote new and current areas of cranberry health benefits and other health promoting functional ingredients. Coordinate and manage basic and clinical research activities by initiating new collaborations, reviewing literature, conducting studies and attending conferences. Identify high priority health benefit areas to prioritize and lead to support business needs. Review literature, existing science and prepare technical documents for cranberry and functional ingredients to provide substantiation for claims, health messaging and regulatory approvals globally. Ability to build credibility and engage key internal and external stakeholders Proactively identifies, monitors and develops action plans for issues related to nutrition Establish good working relationships with academic influencers and external collaborators Provide nutrition technical expertise to cross functional team member for evaluation of emerging technology to support health innovations, product innovations, and sustainability. Show depth and breadth of knowledge in nutrition science and emerging technology and help transmit and implement solutions to business challenges. Organize and maintain a nutrition database containing key information for substantiation of health benefits. Lead the team scientific and regulatory review of messaging and claims documentation to support marketing needs.What We Are Looking For:
Required
PhD in Nutrition, Biochemistry, Food Technology, Microbiology or related field, and 5-15 years of relevant experience (post doc or industry) related to nutrition research, nutritional and regulatory activities
Experience and deep knowledge of human health and biochemistry
Project management skills and experience
Strong oral and written communication
Time management, self-starter
Working independently
Curious and inquisitive about health science
Adept at experimental design, data collection and analysis, and statistical design
Assume awkward positions in the course of working include but not limited to reaching overhead, twisting, bending over, and/or working from a laying position.
