Maxar is seeking a Sr. Openshift Engineer to join a multi-faceted software development and systems administration team working to build and maintain software applications backed by a self-managed high-performance compute (HPC) infrastructure on a private cloud system. We are responsible for the system from the hardware to the user interface.
Principal Responsibilities:
Manage and administer the RedHat OpenShift Container Platform services like Operators, OpenShift Data Foundation, Pipelines, Image Registry, OpenShift Serverless, and Routes Setting up authentication methods (like LDAP etc), defining roles and permissions using Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and creating and managing user accounts Configure and manage networking within the cluster such as set up service definitions, configuring networking policies, and ensuring that applications can communicate with each other both within and outside the cluster Configure and manage OpenShift Container Storage (OCS)/OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF) for stateful workloads and data services across the platform Keeping the OpenShift clusters up to date by performing version upgrades and optimizing the cluster's performance by fine-tuning configurations and resolving performance bottlenecks Manage and administer the On-Premise clusters that includes deployment, configuration, index management, Cross-cluster replication, Snapshot/restore, agent management, cluster upgrades, and any other relevant administrator duties Perform installation, upgrades, RBAC, configuration, plugin installation, backup/restore, Jenkins files, and CI/CD pipelines Perform the installation, configuration, upgrade, administration, monitoring, and maintenance of database Identify new tools/technologies that will make the release and process more efficient, repeatable, and reliable Continuously evaluate various parts of the platform for opportunities for security hardening and improvements in observability Evaluate new technologies and industry trends, develop proofs-of-concept, and present findings Collaborate with the development team in containerizing the applications also in addressing the vulnerabilities identified in the Static/Dynamic scan & container registry scansMinimum Requirements:
Eight (8) years' experience in storage operations / storage engineering. Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree from an accredited university in a technical field is required. Five (5) additional years of experience in storage operations may be considered in lieu of degree. Minimum of 8 years’ related experience with IC and/or DoD systems Proficiency with RedHat administration Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA Security Top Secret SCI with a CI PolygraphDesired Skills:
Infrastructure as Code development and deployments Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator Experience in creating, configuring, and Maintaining RedHat OpenShift Container Platform in On-Premises BareMetal environments#cjpost

● The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $131,000.00 - $219,000.00 annually.For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
